Oh it’s a .25 cal shooting the hades at about 900. Haven’t had a chance to play with it too much but it does this at 2500-2000 psi. I also got the .22 version from UA but without a moderator she’ll be loudMike the little rig looks lean and mean…Specs please…
The mod is the AF talon p Carbine version moderator. I’ve never tried a reg and I don’t think I will I like the powerwhat mod is that? And how do they do regulated? Still intrigued by these beasts.
Sure I’d be happy to. So it’s a single shot system with auto resetting safety. Gun comes with lifetime warranty if purchased new. Depending on your power needs there’s a model to suit. low power-Talon ss, high power condor ss, compact and powerful -Talon P plus there are non ss models to choose but are loud. SS is the baffled version. They offer big bore as well but you asked about a loaner for squirrels. All the ones mentioned come .177-.25. The barrels are captive inside the chassis which is really nice you can’t bump poi. They aren’t regulated so you’ll have to find its sweet spot of 8-25 shots depending on the model you choose. Some come with a 480cc bottle and some with a 213 cc. The fill pressure is 3000 psi but you almost never fill to 3000 because for example my talon p loves 2500-2000 psi with 10 good shots. You can certainly fill to 3000 and shoot but the velocity will be low until you hit its sweet spot. The new tanks are spin-lock which means a castle nut is used to secure the tank to the gun. The power is set by a simple power wheel on the side. A lot of folks do different things with them like “o ring mods” or “adjust the top hat” mod. Personally I set it at the factory spec of top hat adjusted until no play in the bolt in it’s locked either left or right position. This was what AF told me on the phone. The barrels are Lothar Walther. The triggers are non adjustable but good for me for hunting. It’s a good 50 yards or less gun at least for me. I’m sure you can push them. They’re capable of a ton of power and the price is still reasonable. The chassis is one solid piece. Most need adjustable scope rings. Hope this helps.Mike do you mind sharing your experience with the af guns. I’ve never handled one and I’m interested to hear how to adjust power and what is the spin lock version. Looking for another pcp to loan out to squirrel hunting friends
You can probably install this on a talon p or condor but won’t work with a talon ss. Takes a minute and it’s cheapTons o power .. well .... Can you set it low like 500 or less fps for indoor trap shooting then crank it up to outside long ranges or hunting fps ( 800+)
I tend to find these PCP guns like adjustable regulated ..lol... Just can't adjust much if really at all
Ya, I can't find a conclusion on them used . I guess the small would choke it down enough or. Plug it and drill smaller .You can probably install this on a talon p or condor but won’t work with a talon ss. Takes a minute and it’s cheap
Yeah the small one is meant to be drilled. I’ve never used that kitYa, I can't find a conclusion on them used . I guess the small would choke it down enough or. Plug it and drill smaller .
If you could conveniently just go 400-900 fps that would be as well around and gun as it gets. .
Just need that power adjuster to adjust the power some more as needed ..lolYeah the small one is meant to be drilled. I’ve never used that kit
Exactly . It’s meant to experimentJust need that power adjuster to adjust the power some more as needed ..lol
I appreciate this explanation. I just bought a used .25 Talon P with an 18 inch barrel. I will use this as a starting point it has a 600ml condor tank on it, so it will be interesting to see the shot string. The way they explain tuning these is the tank pressure gives you your best power/ velocity which is not going to be at 3000 it may be around 2600 or 2800psi. Then you fine tune it for the best accurate shot string with the power wheel adjusting the hammer spring tension. Or you can set the hammer spring higher for less shots and max power if you want. The hammer spring wheel adjusts the power curve of the shot string. If you want less FPE you use less PSI in the tank. The wheel also fine tunes your groups.
