And I’m trying to decide whether to buy this one. It has lasted a couple days, so I have held out so far, so probably best for someone else. I still might pass in hopes that the new one comes out this year.

Well, there's that. The one I bought was not actually a slug gun. I called in and talked to the salesman that sold it both times. It was mis labeled. This one looks like a slugger, but I'm no expert. I like it so much that I'll probably get a new one as well.

These were sold to be a slug gun, but the slug they were built around is no longer made, so it is effectively a pellet rifle for most people.

I see, you learn something every day if you stay awake long enough. At any rate I really like mine. Waiting for the weather to turn a bit so I can spend more time with it. It hits hard with pellets, I can't imagine what a slug would do in it. Thanks for the information.

Looks like someone finally purchased it and the 15” model that came up late last week as well.

Now I can stop refreshing that page every day and don’t have to worry with trying to convince myself to try it.

I waited 31 days to buy my Paradigm from WolfmanGreg. I said when I first saw the post, that it was a lot of money but if it lasts a month I will buy it. It did. I did. It's story, which Greg was upfront about, didn't turn me off at all, I saw it as just about a guarantee the gun would shoot great. No one else did, I guess, and they were wrong. It shoots great!

The short story on it was that it originally had a bad barrel which Tom did confirm and Greg had him rebarrel it. The whole experience left a bad taste in his mouth I guess, because when he got it back he just decided to sell it. I knew if the owner fixed the gun he sent out with a bad barrel, he would really check his work the second time, and he did. Other's saw it as a potential problem child I guess. I got lucky that they thought that way. Patience is a gamble.

I’ll probably regret not jumping on the HPS as it was the one I wanted from the start, even in 22. If I known the prior owner, it would have been easier to jump on it (like your story). I just told myself my next rifle will be new, and I have held steady so far. We’ll see how long it lasts and which manufacturer can deliver first on the new goods… or which person I know puts up something I can’t resist.

That hps is likely my old original hps not the new variants that are floating in limbo somewhere ? It will not shoot any slugs off the shelf well.

I was however getting 140 shots per fill shooting 18.13 at 880 fps.

That would have been perfect for me, which is why I would have wanted it. I’m not much on the slug craze and am super happy with pellets, and was happy they shot pellets well. I would have liked to have known how it did with the newer 21-22 JSB/JTS/AEA variants as well. Unfortunately these rifles came out before those became popular, so there isn’t much out there on the performance with this pellets as well.

The only slug I am tempted by now might be in 177. I like shooting cheap and am not trying to win any 100yd competitions.

I remember him listing it on AGN. If I didn't already have a Paradigm at the time, I would have jumped on it because he listed it at low price with the gray laminate stock. I even messaged him on the side asking him if the price he listed was a mistake lol.

I know right. I actually wanted a walnut stock because I think they look better, but the price was too good not to buy it if nobody else wanted it. Stock aside, the gun itself is quite awesome in the repeatability/accuracy department. I was, and actually still am, a little puzzled why Tom doesn't include a barrel wrench. You need one, so it should be included to me. I wouldn't want to not need the wrench either. I like that it takes a tool and that it is extremely rugged. Every other barrel connection that I have seen personally pales next to this one. I am not talking about Thomas either because that is not a walk around gun to me, but yes, the barrel being bolted into a block is rugged too. Anyways, I'm holding onto the Paradigm until I can't hold on to nothing.
