Others SLUG Video Challenge + $100 prizes

Also Roger, the camera is supposed to be from your back facing downrange. I can see that it is 100yd for your scope, but next time with the Epic have your primary go down range, and bring the camera with you all the way to 100yd to measure shots on film. Unedited. Only videos that do this can qualify. This is to prevent cheaters from manipulating distance and so on. On your scope I can tell it's 100yd, but if we make an exception for you then everyone will do different videos.

I'll post an instructions video if needed, but I think what I am saying is pretty understandable. The target should be in foreground - something many shooters are shy to do. The camera needs to roll from first shot till measuring each of the 15 shots over 3 groups. No edited video. It is okay to have a secondary camera like the one you had.
Sorry buddy, was just keen to get it filmed whilst it was not raining and even colder . I will do this again with the Red Wolf and then again with the Epic once it’s back with me .

Sorry

Since this “video competition” is something new here on the forum I would like to share something personal.

Many years ago I was interviewed on TV for part of a human interest story.

It was a horrible experience for me, I couldn’t speak correctly and locked up staring at the camera.

But watching the show is what caused the most damage, through the power of editing they made me actually appear perfectly fine. They changed the timing and context.

I thought to myself, what could the media or “other” do if they wanted to destroy someone.

Just writing this I can see that f****** camera staring at me.

@AtlasAirguns you have edited your post to why you are doing this. To use Social Media to promote HAM and increase awareness.

No problem, own it don’t edit it.

I have a fear of being on camera, perhaps others do too. But I own it.

Sorry I'm a bit lost on your editing bit on the end there. I work on social media lot, so I'm not sure I'm following.

Yes the competition is to have fun and engage with HAM forum, with participants linking their video here.

It's for fun and that is all.

What …. In hell does this mean ? Just do it or don’t ?

Tristan's rules are pretty simple, people could in fact spend all day shooting and pick the best of what they shot..those that want to cheat are only cheating themselves. It's just for fun, no reason to get all wound up.
⏫ This. Keep it simple. It's for fun and I want to see people flex their skills. Plus I think it's fun to get people on the YouTube creating videos for the first time.

Sorry I'm confused as well
I’ll try to explain it in a different way.

Please read this thread from your perspective as a content creator. I imagine it should piss you off.

The first sentence of post #8 by @Ezana4CE is noteworthy from a non content creators perspective. He was definitely upset.

I hope you’re tracking so far.

Can we agree that there are some out there online that can take the videos that any individual whether it be just “average joe” or a content creators work and take all kinds of undesirable actions with it?

Untruths, inaccuracies, trolling. Downright theft of work.

And the more something is liked the more of those things come to fruition.

Please tell me why it’s a good idea to go swimming in those murky waters because it doesn’t sound like “fun”.

If you cannot be forthright and understanding about some of the pitfalls regarding the posting of videos of yourself online then I am afraid we have a disconnect here that I alone cannot bridge.

@FL22 I was pissed because I’ve taken a lot of my time to compile information and publish it for public consumption free of charge within the airgun community hoping that someone is learning something from what I have learned within the airgun community. It also helps me learn. When the video was posted, I saw what struck me as a lazy asshole using an image from something I took time to present for likeminded hobbyists and using it in a video geared towards monetization. I was livid. I was also pissed because that same person/channel stole from a content creator whose content is a part of his livelihood.

The lesson learned is to be careful what you post because you cannot control how others use your work, likeness, or images of your gear. Here Tristan put together a friendly competition, but it’s worth being mindful of those who will take what you present to use for personal gain or to pass off as their own work. Nothing wrong with being mindful of that.

Rules:
1:
Distance 100yd
2: Do back to back 5 shot groups on three separate targets (15 shots total, 5 shots on each of three targets).
3: Use VIDEO PROOF. You can use your phone or your camera or whatever. You need to have yourself in frame shooting with the target in the foreground. After you have shot the three targets for a total of 15 shots, take the phone down there and show the targets and size of the groups. This video should be unedited and continuous from first shot to group measuring.
4: Post video to THIS THREAD (upload to YouTube, Rumble or any other video upload)

Who wins? The person with the smallest groups.

What do you win? I'll be sending out some ammo, targets, beef jerky and some other goodies from Atlas Airguns LLC.

ENDS: February 20

Targets size and shape so not matter, because this challenge is not about hitting bullseye but showing your aggregate skill. However, Soren has been kind enough to provide a clean target that I'd use since it has the HAM title on it and helps get more interest in this forum for those on social media that see this. Photo submissions will be universally mocked by everyone, so to play take a video. Post video to HAM.
I have a slug liner and particular slugs for my Impact that I’ve never even unboxed 🤣. I might have to try this. But keep in mind, some of us actually have winter to contend with 🥶🤣, So I might have to watch from the side lines.

Firstly, I am an airgun retailer. Like most shops, I produce content from time to time.

Secondly, if you're stressed by the notion of theft of art from a video submission, simply abstain from the challenge. It's that simple.

Good luck everyone.

I just love how keep editing and deleting your posts 😉.

I suppose from now on I just need to screenshot everything you say. When you try some more double talk I’m going to call you out on it.

Regardless, I’m done with this particular conversation.

I still don’t it get it buddy ? What’s your point ? What have I done that’s so bad ? What did I do to you ? Anyways , do the challenge. Have fun or don’t mate ?

Never unboxed it? Perfect excuse! Take a picture of your setup to share too (just for fun).

My groups are so bad that everyone knows I'm not faking them. 🤷‍♂️😏
One day I'll become a real boy shooter, today in the rain is probably not that day.
We have snow here in FL currently, sitting around 31°. I don't know how you all shoot in the snow so often. That is dedication.
