It is not full auto but semi-auto=each pull of trigger is shot

@AtlasAirguns Nicely done shooting review. Thankfully the watermelon looked over-ripe. I have some questions. Which magnification did you use shooting form 50 yards? 100 (110) yards? When you say ".452/.454" which is it? Does it vary from barrel to barrel or do you simply mean ammo should be within this range? That part was a bit confusing. I'm also curious as to how the regular Rattler .45 compares to the Rattler Longstrike .45 at 50 and 100 yards.

The usuable range of ammo is from 452 all the way to 456. The reason I said 457/458 is because a 457 ammo is oversized with variances up to 458 (and higher) which could cause issues obviously. Currently what I see best suited is 456 but I'm still exploring. As for standard I shot it today with 360gr shooting at 690~ and 230s shooting at 790~ and just as accurate.

The one thing I would say that I've really learned is that certain holds present better accuracy so definitely play with holds and trigger control.

@AtlasAirguns Oh damn. I can relate. I'm still playing with holds on the Bulldog M357. And regarding ammo for the Longstrike you said "...be sure to get it in .452/.454 diameter" starting around the 1:26 mark. I don't recall you discussing 457/458 other than saying it isn't chambered in those calibers..

I said it is chambered in 452 454 so that consumers don't buy 458 diameter and have issues. And no, I did not discuss 458 because there is nothing to discuss other than don't use it. 455/456 seems to be the best but it will take a lot more tests to truly confirm this.

I will likely not be doing a side by side comparison video because it would be a bit redundant on top of this video as well as boring with the only difference being velocity differences between the two guns. 380 vs 430fpe etc.I have some other film projects including EBR so my keyboard warrioring will be fully engaged and my shooting will be limited to testing customer guns.

Having a bunch of long NSA 350 grain HP-RBT slugs in .454 diameter, I clutch the tip off to get the overall length at just under an inch and they weigh in at 343 grains. Because I don't own a milling machine, caveman machining techniques required using a drill press and a chucked up mill bit to knock off the tip. They load perfectly and length is perfect. Would someone close to NSA mind getting shorter HP-RBT these ran on the high speed machines and do some long range accuracy testing on the perfect length and weight, for a good heavy weight hunting slug?

When more of these guns get out to the public with customers using NSAs, Mr Hollowpoints and others, I think we will have a better map on best ammo. A client and friend of mine had some luck with Mr Hollowpoints 456 260g and the HAH 453 261gr. So far he is liking the Mr Hollowpoints best. I'll post here if I get any more feedback from others.

The difference was that I learned how to hold the gun properly, so I believe with a bit of practice the Rattler groups can get better. The other thing I need to invest in is a better sand bag with a bit more elevation.

If anyone finds a good bag for comfort or some other method, post it here!

A client and friend of mine hand some luck with Mr Hollowpoints 456 260g and the HAH 453 261gr. So far he is liking the Mr Hollowpoints best. I'll post here if I get any more feedback from others.

A grinder will load up with lead. It needs to be shaved off somehow with some kind of cutter bit.

Caldwell makes a decent higher bag that elevates the gun enough to get it off the pistol grip. Resting on the forearm while gripping a small tree or the post at the range is similar to resting on a sand bag and good hunting practice. A V as shaped stick (Primos Trigger Stick or similar) doesn't put much influence on the gun either. Loading up a bipod doesn't really work unless conditions are the same every time, like on a bench.

Just reporting best slugs so far - the 454 Venom ammo by HAH. I tested 100rnds out of the 45 standard and sent two bags to a standard and Long Strike owner and they reported similar findings.

I've been "reviewing" the Long Strike 45 for over 500 flawless rounds so far. This was today's first dozen shots after a barrel cleaning and polishing experiment. I'm glad that it wasn't an expensive experiment. What I did find was this particular barrel tightened up the groups with some TLC. I was hoping that it would be a set it and forget it barrel, and we will see after these next 500 rounds.

The first six are the bottom group at 111 yards, then a couple click adjustment for the top group. Wind started swirling and gusting to 10 mph.
