One airgun to rule them all?

The most versatile for me would be something that I don't have, and isn't made. I would like to have a gun exactly like the Daystate Revere in .25 that could shoot a 34gr MkII pellet at 875fps for 8 shots. Of what I have, versatility holds a very far down the line place of importance to me. Accuracy and dependabilty overshadow it by a mile and for that it would certainly be my Paradigm .30. Probably the better way to ask the question is which airgun do you always have with you incase you need it. The situation creates the answer.

Oooo! just from what i have......
.177 I'd vote a Daisy 880
.22 I'd vote Seneca Dragonfly orrrr...Snowpeak PP800R
All can sling pellets or slugs.
My other slingers are more "one purpose" builds.

Oh I remember the days of the Daisy in .22 cal (22X or 22SG). They were all more or less a wood stocked, metal version of the 880. I've asked they bring the back. Was hoping when Gamo bought Daisy things would change. Sadly not.

Unfortunately I have not tried any slugs in either of my Ataman’s (I also have a .30 in a gorgeous Jatoba Cherry stock as well). I bought a crap ton of .25 and .30 JSB pellets off a guy on GTA back in 2020 for super cheap and I have hardly put a dent in them so far. I know of a couple other people that have tried some NSA slugs in a M2R but I don’t recall what caliber…I just remember they didn’t group well because the choke is so tight along with the aforementioned twist rate.

If you ever want to try and are ordering from anywhere that carries H&N, they have some slug sampler packs that aren’t too pricey. Good luck my friend, let me know your results if you do end up trying!

I ordered some nsa’s going to give them a try, I mainly shoot from bench so I shouldn’t have any issues with them falling out of the magazines, I’ll keep ya posted on results, I’m being optimistic but know they probably won’t perform like I want them too I just don’t shoot my Ataman much anymore since I got my huben, just trying to get the fire started again to start shooting the good ole Ataman figured I would start with the lightest slugs first, it’s currently shooting H&N 21.14’s around 930fps

Sounds good bud, hoping you have some good luck! And I hear you about your Huben, I always seem to grab my SK-19 because it’s so fun to shoot and super accurate too. Semi-auto is just a blast, I rarely use the full auto option but every now and then it’s just fun to let it rip…

I hear ya, I’m torn on my next rifle to purchase… I want a evol 30 but that removable mag sidewinder has me debating which to get, I’m hooked on the semi-auto hammerless air rifles now

For sure! I’m really interested in the new Kalibrgun Springbok semiauto, always have seen so many good things about their other guns so if this one is as solid I might have to pick one up. I’m in no rush though, I am not one to buy something right after it comes out. I prefer to wait and let any issues that may arise get sorted out firsts…

The standard 60 is great. I haven't heard of any issues with the Springbok. I know that it is lower power compared to the Western Airguns Sidewinder. Nice thing about the Western is in .22 you can step from 15fpe to 72fpe all with the power wheel on the back ...it's awesome.

The power wheel is great, I use it frequently on my SK-19 but I do really love the idea of the removable mag on the Sidewinder. I mainly use my SK-19 for small game hunting and pesting around the my farmette and I have yet to ever have to load it in the field so far. Shooting off the bench is a different story though, I get sick and tired of rotating the mat around loading real quick. Maybe at some point I’ll upgrade, especially since I think LCS has or is going out of business. I’d imagine a lot of the parts from the Rattler will work though and I still have all my parts that came with the gun so I am in no rush to fix something that’s still working.

I have a few guns, but if I had to grab just one gun heading out the door, it would 100% have to be my Evol .30.
Hunting, Benchrest, oh and hell yea, it's that tough, I would even use it as a club in survival mode

I haven't tried one yet. I've thought about ordering a couple for my shop but I think most Americans would rather have the Western for power. I like the Springboks aesthetics, however.

Well tried the nsa’s out of the Ataman m2 today, not bad but not great, target at 50yds, pretty windy here today, the top target was just shooting through the wind and the middle target was waiting for wind to die down between shots… not bad.. the thing that gets me is that with 21gr h&n pellets it was putting out 920 fps and when I put those little 17.5g slugs through the chronny it was only getting 777fps, didn’t think they would slow them down that much, oh and the .217’s just fall right out of the magazine and would load so I had to single load them

That is not bad at all bud, especially with some wind! I’d say that’s pretty serviceable considering how tight the choke is on those LW barrels. The drop in FPS does surprise me some but I remember seeing a HAM article about this very topic not that long ago I believe. I think the twist rate and the choke plus the aerodynamics of the slug all equals to what you saw but I’m far from an expert.
