well, I know you had a P1, how does it compare? I don’t think the P2 is all that different, cocking wise, even with the balanced valve.

I didn't have a P1 or P2, but I did shoot them both. The P-3 is a dramatic improvement. I should be doing a review of it soon detailing some of it. I will post it here when I do!

I see too often people wanting a one size fits all solution to a problem. I think we all do this mentally in some way or another. But most of us recognize that we need multiple tools for the job. That said, what gun do you find is the most versatile for you?

My final choice after trying everything from springers, gas rams and all the weirauchs i settled on my evanix blizzard. 20 cal. No fuss, angry little weapon and boringly accurate. Love it

That's my choice of gun for tinkering with .

Prophet 1 and 2 owner, a few early niggles but a pleasure to own and shoot.

Flexibility, it's the yoga master of the airgun world.

If I had to just have one gun, the EVOL it is hands down. For all the pesting/hunting i do its perfect.

I was studying the P3, and the P2 prior to the latest version coming out, and I was contemplating it or the Ghost. I think I made the right choice.

I do have to say the Taipan Veteran Compact in .22 was and still is another solid performer, getting 45 shots a fill at 27 fpe and shooting 18s out to 100 yards is fantastic, a little archaic in design but tried and true none the less.

I miss mine from time to time.

It's so hard to keep it to just one, I am at 6 and they all my keepers. The ones though that stand out the most to me are my vet that thing is a tank as a few guys on here it's my lend out and try it and not worry they will break it setup. The others that stand out are my hubens the .22 I can shoot 450fps or 1200fps on the fly same reg pressure just clicks of the power wheel and bam. Now not saying it's sub moa at all those settings they definitely have a sweet spot just like everything else. But I like my crown, dreamtac and ghost just as much each is set for a specific purpose.

I guess my most versatile right now would be my evol mini. It’s my grab and go gun, that is easy to carry, packs enough umph for most critters, and is super accurate. If I’m home, snd it’s a raccoon or bigger going after my chickens, it’s a different story. I’ll grab my vet standard in 25 for those duties. I don’t think I could ever own 1 gun for everything I do. I currently own 5, and they all have their own jobs. I consider myself lucky I got away with only having 5. Lol

I tend to grab my LCS .22 for pesting duties but that’s just because I love having the super quick follow up shot. With that said, I would probably take my Ataman M2R .25 overall because it’s much simpler to work on and much less that can break if I’m out for an extended excursion. Super accurate gun and it has such a silkily smooth side lever, very underrated guns for sure.

The veteran, like my evol, is just completely solid! No poi changes, even when sitting for months. It just plain works.

I agree about Ataman’s being under rated, I have a M2 with the ergonomic stock and a BP17 love them both. Did you try any slugs out of your Ataman? I don’t want to go down the slug road again but curious to see if they do well in the M2 I’m sure they don’t though with a chocked barrel and the 1:18 twist rate, was going to try the lite 17gr nsa .217’s and see what it does.. I mainly shoot from a bench/table so I don’t have to be worried about the slugs falling out of the mag. I know Ataman has a dedicated slug bullpup called the MB20 but I’m sure we will never see one here in the states with all the sanctions on Russia now with the craziness going on over there

Unfortunately I have not tried any slugs in either of my Ataman’s (I also have a .30 in a gorgeous Jatoba Cherry stock as well). I bought a crap ton of .25 and .30 JSB pellets off a guy on GTA back in 2020 for super cheap and I have hardly put a dent in them so far. I know of a couple other people that have tried some NSA slugs in a M2R but I don’t recall what caliber…I just remember they didn’t group well because the choke is so tight along with the aforementioned twist rate.

If you ever want to try and are ordering from anywhere that carries H&N, they have some slug sampler packs that aren’t too pricey. Good luck my friend, let me know your results if you do end up trying!

Ok, so this will be a little long winded so bear with me!!

I spend a couple hrs shooting today. I got through all 3 of my current pcp’s, and shot a few mags through them all.
I started with the crown. Now to premise, I just converted it to 25cal 500mm barrel shooting 34gn jsb at 850fps. I dialed it in what I thought was a good tune a few days ago. I shoot it today for the first time at 75yds. It was WAY off target. So I dialed it in again. This thing is shooting all over the place. Can’t get a steady group to save my life, and the gun just sounds off. Must have been an issue with my tune, or it settled in and isn’t where I left it. Who knows!
Bummed a bit, I go and grab my veteran standard in 25cal. Now this thing is a shooter, but I have a love/hate relationship with bullpups. I’m not very good at keeping them steady. I find this out again today being the first time shooting it at 75yds. I’m all over the place again. I know it’s me this time, because I can’t keep the rifle steady. I’m just not in a comfortable position with it. So now I know my limitations. This thing is a laser under 50yds in my hands. Anything past that, I just can’t hold it steady enough.
So now I’m more bummed, so I go grab my evol mini. I have done ZERO tuning to this rifle, and have a cheap vector veyron scope on top dialed in to 35yds.
I assume the same position I did with the last 2 and dialed for 75yds. BAM first shot dead on! BAM! 2nd shot dead on. Now the wind is picking up, so I continue to shoot, not holding for wind. Just wanting to see what kind of groups I’ll get at 75yds in this wind. After all 11 shots are fired, my group was under 2” with what I’d say was about a 5-6mph left to right wind. It’s shooting hades at 860fps at 75yds, and I get that group.

Now the reason I posted here, is because we all thrive to find the do it all gun. The one that could replace all, and we always look at these modular guns that can swap calibers, and barrel lengths, and tune on the fly, and external adjustments up the yin and Yang, but we forget that no matter how many bells and whistles a gun has, if YOU can’t shoot it, it’s pointless.
Now I’ve had great days with all these rifles, so I know this was a bad day for me. So why is it that even on a “bad” day of shooting, my mini still shot unbelievably well? It’s because it is an extremely well built pcp, that I personally can shoot incredibly well ALL THE TIME!!!
So do I keep my other pcp’s knowing when I have to grab it for a quick knock down, I may be having a “bad day” and could miss a shot, or worse yet, injure an animal instead of a clean kill?
Or do I sell all, and keep what I know just plain works???

I would have to go with my Daystate Huntsman .177. It does what I need and doesn't require tuning.
My close second is my Ataman M2R .22 carbine. Great rifle, but heavy.

.177 I'd vote a Daisy 880
.22 I'd vote Seneca Dragonfly orrrr...Snowpeak PP800R
All can sling pellets or slugs.
My other slingers are more "one purpose" builds.
