So after being a marshal at the worlds and seeing all the different equipment they used I figured why not try it with Norma Jean. Well Rio Salado had their first Field Target monthly match of the season yesterday so what did this dumb A$$ do you may ask. Why let me try WFTF style with Norma Jean.....No fancy equipment, no shooting jacket, no knee pads with just a borrowed bum bag. With my 4 practice targets at the house the day before, which looked like a shotgun. What could go possibly wrong
I mean I had a World Class shooter teamed up with me, Lauren Parsons, as my coach. Lauren was great to work with, we tried different ways of me holding the rifle, trying to stay steady and different heights of bum bags before the match. Rifle was sighted in on bucket and sticks so my holdovers/ dials were a little different and I winged it on some of the targets.
My entire goal was not to get skunked on a lane and to have fun and laugh a lot at my stupidity for trying this. Well after 12 lanes and 48 shots I think I did pretty good, but man am I sore in the hips. I'm not sure the human body was designed to sit like this, get up from the position and do it again for 47 more times. ALEVE was my friend!!!!!
Here is a picture of my scorecard and you will see I came very close, on a lot of the lanes, getting skunked.
The only lane I cleared was the short lane 14 and 13 yards away. Damn those KZ's were small!!!!!!
Here I am doing self torture

Overall a very fun day. Many Thank You's go to Lauren for helping me out and when I did knock down a target hearing "good shot". Yeah I didn't hear that very much
So total match winner, of course was my wife shooting her red ghost with a 43 out of 48. I think Lauren was the high scorer in WFTF PCP with a 38 or 39.
I was the only WFTF piston shooter, but I did beat the HFT piston shooter so there is that
Have fun, shoot straight, and don't be afraid to try something different....I did and I had a blast....That is after the Aleve kicked in.
