Hey guys,
Over the last year I’ve been running 4 different night vision scopes on my airgun hunts – everything from budget clip-ons to high-end thermal. After a ton of real hunting trips in all kinds of conditions, I figured it was time to share the good, the bad, and a few tricks I’ve learned along the way.

In the video I cover:

  • Clip-On
  • Dedicated NV Scope
  • Multi-Spectrum Unit
  • Thermal
  • Battery Life
  • Base magnification

I go over pros/cons of each setup, plus some tips on how to get the most out of them. My goal is to help anyone who’s thinking about buying one of these scopes avoid wasting money and pick the right tool for the job.

Would love to hear what you guys are using, and if your experiences line up with mine.

Dana, yet another outstanding video. Thanks for sharing (y)

@MountainSportAirguns First off I’d like to say that I really like that new “Into the Field.” That’s really nice looking. I think this is the third logo I’ve see you use and it is very nicely designed and executed.

I enjoyed the video and the information. It is a very well organized and concise presentation. Thanks for sharing. I’m still torn between the DNT styled, compact, boxy-shaped, digital optic and the Pard and Guide (tube) style. I own both types. I enjoy the compactness of the DNT style, but I appreciate the ability to have a wide selection of mounts for the tube styled digital optic. The one thing I would have liked to have seen and heard discussed is the convenience or inconvenience of moving digital optics from rifle to rifle. In my experience with the boxy compact digital scope is that need for shimming in order to zero the scope. There simply isn’t enough elevation adjustment in the scope for the mount that it comes my day/night optic. My experience here is with a Pard NV0008s. The problem this presents is that when mounting between rifles it’s tough to get the scope mounted exactly the same because it’s nearly impossible to re-orient homemade shims in the exact same position so if your zeroes (for various guns) are saved in different profiles, adjustments may still need to be made to your reticle before hunting. This is time consuming and inconvenient. I don’t know if DNT scopes suffer from the same issue or not, but I’d like to hear that addressed.

That was great 😃
Wish I would have seen it a little earlier.
Been thinking about one for when at Daughter's farm. 3-4 times a year. Rest of the time it would be stored.
Not sure where your from but I'm in St Louis
Never come here 😭 😂
