Others New drs tactical mk2

I have 2 a 700 22 and a mki 500 22. I shoot mostly pellets (21.9 aea) from the 500 and slugs from the 700. Waiting to get a 700 pellet liner to see how well the 25 and 34 gr pellets shoot from it. I really like the 500 for squirrels and 50-75yd bench
I switched back to pellets & I find that they can be a lot more accurate than slugs , with a lot less tuning. nothing wrong with pellets. On the 21.9 AEA even @ 845 fps they are amazing. I shoot those out of my custom AZ Raw & Thomas

My bad, I got out of hand . I will move over to Panthera thread. in any case what Barrel length is on your Drs is 500 mm? Iam thinking I will do the same hammer weight as yourself in the 700 .22 Drs in ST chasis. Iam sure one could still put the tungsten in the Drs, I will have to research this? I was told the 34.6 gr Zan Hyper line (green coating) @ 1000 fps & 23 grain are great out of the Drs 34.6 gr @ 1000 fps = 76 ft/lbs lower reg psi ? Higher shot count ? Also I think FX did away with the smaller plenums. They will now come with the larger plenums
It’s all good bro I do the same thing sometimes 😂😂… I can tell you’re running ideas in your head and getting excited about possibilities. I appreciate the enthusiasm. Also I think y’all kinda proved a point that I’ve been making….

Im using a 12 gram steel hammer from fx shooting 40 gr air marksman to 930 fos with 150 bar. Where in the world do you need a 26 gram hammer?
I was thinking about this and if anything @Solo1 is reinforcing what I’m saying about the DRS which is that this thing is sneaky good with the power numbers. Solo has another 20 Bar of headroom on the reg and still has the “medium” HS weight in. My guess is that he keeps it at 930fps for shot count. Same reason my HS is only at 150Bar and I’m using the “medium” brass weight which is 12.8grams I believe.

I know solo has done some mods to the barrel but overall neither one of us has really modified the gun and I’ll be frank other than a bigger plenum and longer barrel I struggle to think of anything else to modify… obviously a bottle adapter but I think I need some bigger brains to help with that 😂😂.

For power mongers like me an 800mm bottle version of this gun would be 😍😍😍😍.

To be honest though I love shooting this thing at 80-100fpe the most. I’m only pushing the power on this one for the social media views 😂😂😂. I’m not trying to be an influencer but I’m definitely trying to get to a level where gun shops will loan me new guns to test out. Specifically coyote guns.

I feel like all the high power guns get advertised as coyote guns or hog guns and I wanna put that to the test. Utah is generally regarded as the hardest or one of the hardest to call coyotes in and it’s been something I’ve been learning for almost 2 years now. I mostly want to show people that you can hunt coyotes with Airguns and you can be effective with them. I also want to show that for most people an Air Force Texan or a big bore isn’t always needed. But I also want to discourage people from thinking their Hatsan blitz .25 or .22 Diana storm rider probably ain’t the right choice lol.

Anyways I’m just obsessed with Airguns. They brought me back to shooting after years and years of not being interested. So I’m trying to figure out a way to combine Airguns, my day job of machining and my passion for coyote hunting. I still shoot firearms but only begrudgingly haha and I will not shoot rimfire anymore. Nothing wrong with rimfire but my Airguns are just better.

I am an adult that runs outside like a little kid with my airifles. I truly have a passion for it. As far as coyote hunting it is not easy, for they don't sit still. sometims . I do believe lthey are a creature of habit & take the same path to go where they are going. Head shot is the best .. Even with the Drs I would go for a headshot. ( light switch) or close range, I have seen them as close as 27 yards. In the past I Anchored) one @ 68 yards. anchored meaning dropped it right where he was standing, no running away. I do believe .30 will get the job done.. It comes down to patience shot placement & power of the rig you are using. I am treading lightly on this topic for fear of backlash from others. As far as the Drs I think it is a proven winner from reading your posts & Solo1 & I can't thank you both for your guidance & knowledge of the Drs. I am still patiently waiting for my rigs to show up . The Drs in .22 700 in ST chasis . The chassis is 2 weeks out. While you both are enjoying your rigs which I am happy to hear, frankly I am getting tired of waiting. Especially from my other post in another topic. I do have plans for a .30 Drs though, I have to do a bit more thinking on that, LOL

Is that the prototype? Doyou think its that good?
Yes it is the prototype and yes I really do think it’s that good.

I’ve been shooting the DRS a lot lately specifically because of how noticeable the reduction of the barrel flip is.

As far as quiet goes I don’t have any scientific method of measuring but my two anecdotal examples are this: 1) I moved into town last month and I’ve been shooting in my new backyard with no issues. Even at 90fpe. 2) Coyotes have incredible hearing. Everyone knows they have an amazing nose but those ears are incredible. As you saw in the coyote footage I posted I was able to shoot one at 50y and one a few minutes later at 155y while standing in the exact same spot. Neither of them reacted to until they got hit. While facing me.

If a coyote can’t hear me within 50y a human being certainly won’t either.
