Think about that. It's wild to me that an avenger barrel can be had for 31.99 on pyramid (available again in late April) but an aftermarket barrel (of higher quality I understand) is 10x that.

I feel the same way, second barrel is hammered as well. After sending a nasty email to barra, I ordered a LW blank and am now looking for a gun smith to turn it.Ray, don't muck about. Go to a local gunsmith. It is going to take the 250z from budget friendly, to a higher tier pellet rifle category price wise.
You may need a local machine shop to run the o.d and threads/groves and center bore of the factory barrel from round stock, and a gunsmith to do the rifling/crown.
It can become exceptionally pricy.
Could it be more worth it to return the rifle, and purchase a beeman, etc, with more realistic advertisement until barra pulls their head out their? Probably.
If my rifle has a jacked barrel, and spare barrel is equally as jacked, they can eat it. 10000%
No back and forth, no obscene me running around fixing theirups. Simply refusing to finance false advertisement.
I'll say it again, Anna Spanagel won a three card 100y benchrest match with a factory Avenger barrel. Think about that.Think about that.
JTS Airguns, formerly Xisico Airguns. I bought a sentry from Xisico and the barrel was drilled off center at the breach. I can't use the mod it came with and a barrel that a fellow airgunner on GTA sent me a spare barrel he had. It was very tight at the breach but once past it the pellet just fell down the barrel until it got to the choke and barely any resistance going through it. Needless to say I WON'T be buying anything from JTSThe JTS Airacuda PRS is close to the 250z price point. Looks to me like it has more realistic specs and great features.
Oh and it’s in stock at PA .22 .25 .30
I have the Airacuda standard .25 and I’m very happy with it.
I mean I don’t have my ear to the hpa bottle like some Airgunners do but I haven’t heard anyone wanting to tear their hair out over JTS but seems plenty complaining about Barra.
I’m not sticking up for them in particular there is just so many options out there.JTS Airguns, formerly Xisico Airguns. This is disappointing to read. I Had hoped Barra got this issue resolved. Makes me have second thoughts about buying the 270z when it becomes available.I feel the same way, second barrel is hammered as well. Ray you will need a 28 inch blank as the barra has a 27.5 inch stock barrel. Lother walther may be the way to go there. As the title says... I am getting tired of the runaround !!Need it for a 250Z .22... Help me pick a blank barrel and someone to machine it..
Thanks,
Ray
Very poor machining at the muzzle, no crown to speak of just looks like an oversized drilling out with a dull bitThis is disappointing to read. I Had hoped Barra got this issue resolved. Makes me have second thoughts about buying the 270z when it becomes available.
What sort of imperfections did you observe in both of your barrels?
Can i make a suggestion? Before you buy a barrel and if it just the crown that you feel is the problem you can buy tapered rubber abrasive bits for a drill from amazon for a couple bucks that you could possible clean up the crown and be able to use this barrel and save yourself a good bit of cashVery poor machining at the muzzle, no crown to speak of just looks like an oversized drilling out with a dull bit
The depth of the hole is over 1/8 inchCan i make a suggestion? OMG!!! Did you receive that from Barra? This is what they look like
Barra 250z barrel crown i did for a customer. I have a process for these barrels that does wonders for accuracyVery poor machining at the muzzle, no crown to speak of just looks like an oversized drilling out with a dull bit
I have a question please? Considering the 250z is an inner barrel surrounded by the air cylinder. Is the overall length of the barrel critical to the relationship between the two parts?Barra 250z barrel crown i did for a customer. I have a process for these barrels that does wonders for accuracy
Yes I did, very upsetting isn't itOMG!!! Did you receive that from Barra?
Can I send mine to you and see what you can do with it?Barra 250z barrel crown i did for a customer. I have a process for these barrels that does wonders for accuracy
This is why I ask 'beast the question about the length of the barrel. I was thinking that if the air cylinder fitment with the barrel afforded the barrel to be a little shorter than you could get a fresh crown by machining that barrel back 1/4".Can I send mine to you and see what you can do with it?
I don't think I'll buy another rifle from Barra considering they knew about the barrel issues and are still shipping out 'trash' barrels like you received! Even though I was lucky and got a near perfect barrel on my 250z, I don't trust Barra after seeing what the sold you (and likely others).Yes I did, very upsetting isn't it
Man, that's ugly!!!This is what they look like
