EVOL HPS Magazine length/maximum projectile length

EVOL was designed with one of the deepest magazine wells from the get go. It will accommodate all current ammo that the hps can push at reasonable velocities.

Maximum projectile length for the 22 and 30 calibers is 0.530". Standard mags will fit all commonly used 40-45 gn 218 cal. slugs and 30 will take upto 80 gns.

Max projectile for the upcoming 223 caliber is 0.625". This will accommodate the Altaros 59gn slug.

I think only the Mora has a deeper mag capacity, but there could be others.

Thank you Tom! I am wondering about the upcoming .223. Is the repeating magazine capable of cycling a 0.625" long projectile or is that long slug single loaded in a tray with the magazine requiring shorter slugs?

If the magazine is longer, what other chamberings, and projectile weights, are anticipated for the new platform? What is your expected velocity for the heavy long slugs?

Kind regards,

Mike

There is enough internal space in the magazine design to accommodate the 223 59gn. Utilizing this space makes the mag. suitable for slugs only.

Longer than 59 gn can be single loaded with a SST.

59 gn altaros will shoot at 950 fps with a shot count of approx. 20
