PCP Macavity Arms Recall all pcp rifles

Why I tend to avoid any new company. At one point I was ready to sell my wildcat BT to get a karma eq. Thankfully I didn’t do something so stupid. They had to send out some trigger part right out of the gate and the triggers are still utterly horrendous from everything I read. These new companies need time to pan out in my opinion.

Definitely, it was rushed from first model to the production run.

What timing, just received my .30 from Pyramid and set it up to sight in. Fired 2 shots and got called in to lunch. Checked email while eating and found out about the recall. Now degassed and awaiting repair parts. Bummer.
Sorry to hear that, but at least you know. Welcome to the HAM Community!

That is a bummer, but also an opportunity. You can completely check out every part, and it is a lot easier to give your barrel a good first cleaning, or polish, by removing it.

That is true. Barrel was horrible, see pic. Paid Pyramid to fire 10 shots, they used some new Zan lightweight coated slugs. Took about 40 patches to clean up.

Welcome to the forum man! Looks like a couple of weeks wait on the parts until Macavity gets them in. Better safe than sorry right?

welcome to the forum.
Hang in there, It's my bet they will do everything they can to solve this issue. Quality and service is weather I buy another product from any seller.

That kind of looks like wax. That would be a nice change from cosmoline, better to deal with that than rust.

You always have to clean out whatever rust preventative they use in new barrels. PA is never going to take the time to do that right on a 10-for-$10 deal. All these videos by people who pull their guns out of the box and just shoot them really tick me off too. What a complete disservice to the airgunning community to do so, and a bad precedent. Some guys get lucky, and it shoots well ... so what? They don't need cleaning often, but they do need that first one.

I'm very frustrated with the company. I saved a long time to buy my rifle and hasn't worked right since i got it. Now its just another lemon that could cause serious injury or failure. This is my 22 Sniper longs second trip to Macavity repair as they did not fix it right the first time!
Well, as much as I was wanting the .30 cal. They have definitely lost a customer In me. I won't be buying anything the make. I just added them to my list, right below HA.

Absolutely agree! They must be cleaned before the very first shot or the accuracy can or will be erratic.

It was just coincidence on finding out about the global recall as i have mine in for repair at the factory so the customer service department offered full disclosure. I can't wait to get a good working rife that finally performs! For those that choose to do the recall repair with the parts provided they offer a video link showing the process to change the parts and perform the repair step by step which is nice. Still will be over two weeks untill the repair parts come in at the factory so it will be awhile. I'll let you guys know when i get mine back!
Got a link to the repair video? Couldn't find one.

I don't have one, but would also still be interested in seeing it.
For sure, i bet they are waiting to post the repair video until the parts show up from China. Macavity service told me last week it looks like the parts should make it in by the first week of July. Could change again, I'll let you all know.

Just got this email...

Eagerly awaiting our parts this week, I am informed that they are in our port we are just waiting on release and arrival!

That's great to hear. I sent an email early monday morning asking about the parts status and never got a response. So glad the parts are in California now!
