PCP Macavity Arms Recall all pcp rifles

Just heard from Macavity Arms about my defective MA2 22 caliber Sniper pcp. This is it's 2nd trip to the factory as the first time i sent it in in March it was only getting 18 shots per fill when it should be getting 80 to 100. They said they fixed it and sent it back after a month. It was not fixed, still 18 shots per fill. So last week i sent it back again and i was contacted by them today that there's a global recall on all rifles ever sold as the air tanks and valves including regulator need replacing. The parts are at least two weeks away from them getting them to fix them all. They are to be degassed immediately until you get your rifle fixed so as not get injured. They will give you also the option to send out the parts so you can fix it yourselves. Lots of lemons this time all!

That's too bad, they look like great guns for the money. What I take away from this though is a company ready to stand behind thier product and truly fix issues. Hopefully the issues are resolved after and thier brand builds the reputation it appears they want to have.

I was interested in them when they first came out BUT, first production is always scary on anything . Don't ask me how I know !! Hope they square it all away. Yes, they sound like their making it right, good for that.

Well, I for one, will certainly just elect to get the parts and do it myself. I have had mine shooting perfectly for a while now and am not risking it to anybody else, or the horrors of shipping. I have the Genesis model, pre-production, and have adjusted the regulator quite a bit, and the internals on the gun look fantastic. Sure is strange to have a full product line recall w/o having heard of multiple really bad things happening on the forums. Love having a heads up on it though, thanks for posting!

It was just coincidence on finding out about the global recall as i have mine in for repair at the factory so the customer service department offered full disclosure. I can't wait to get a good working rife that finally performs! For those that choose to do the recall repair with the parts provided they offer a video link showing the process to change the parts and perform the repair step by step which is nice. Still will be over two weeks untill the repair parts come in at the factory so it will be awhile. I'll let you guys know when i get mine back!

Perfect timing too. I'm on the list for a 30cal. Whe. They came back in stock at Pyramyd.

When they do recalls like this, how close do they get to getting all of them straightened out? What percentage of owners will never see this very important service message? I hope everyone stays safe out there.

FYI This recall is just for the production MA2 that has a regulator gauge. If you have a Genesis model pre-production gun, without a regulator gauge, it does not apply to you. Straight from an email I got from Macavity.

Why is MaCavity putting the shipping charge on the customer s to send the rifle in to them for repair? Something as potentially dangerous, as they said in email release, shouldn't they be handling shipping both ways, as well as repair? I kinda thinking that sucks of them.

When they told me they fixed everything with the prototype, then sent me the production version only to find out it was exactly the same. That pretty much turned me off to everything about them as a company, a recall like that definitely makes me suspect a catastrophic failure happened. Weather or not it happend to them or a customer is the question. If it was something as simple as a leak I'd be shocked if they would go to the trouble of putting out a global recall...that's the sort of thing that could sink a small company, especially with the tariffs going on. As far as shipping cost both ways I'm not sure that sounds very appropriate considering when you purchase a gun the expectation is that it's "safe" to use. The fact they say "degas" the rifle immediately...that's pretty serious and not something I can say I've seen since the whole Flying Dragon fiasco years ago.

I'm very frustrated with the company. I saved a long time to buy my rifle and hasn't worked right since i got it. Now its just another lemon that could cause serious injury or failure. This is my 22 Sniper longs second trip to Macavity repair as they did not fix it right the first time!
