Hello Everyone, I am Michael of Arkansas. Please feel free to call me MOA.
I truly appreciate the chance to become a member and interact with all you
fine Air Gun enthusiasts. As a new member I have a lot to learn but I want to
and ask you to please let me know if I post something that I should clarify or
explain in more detail. I really am excited to become an active member and
learn some new things from you and share experiences. I was bit by the bug
to try air gunning in 2015 and fell in love with this sport. I have been shooting
powder for 65 years but nothing has every grabbed me like shooting AIR.
In 2015 I started with a new break barrel .22 and now split my time with 12
air guns and can not seem to slow my roll. Just this month I purchased a
Diana Bandit .177 and a Umarex Zelos .25. I am in a honeymoon phase
with them as I love the feel of Tinkering, Cleaning and prepping each new
acquisition. I really enjoy turning my budget priced prize from a sows ear
into a silk purse ( at least in my minds eye ). I don't own any high-dollar guns
at this point as I found out early on that ( a. Can not afford any and b. most of
my enjoyment comes from trying to tune a budget gun to shoot like a high-dollar gun
or do my best in the attempt ) Working on my guns is my Zen place after all it's the
journey not the destination, Right. The only confusion I have is deciding which gun
to bury with me. Anyway, I look forward to meeting members and sharing this
( difficult to hide obsession ) we all must have with this sport. Bye for now, MOA.

Welcome. I fully understand your Zen even after blasting through all that powder over the years. I moved on from shooting competitive powder burners and got full on into air power. It is a totally different sport to me even though I try to replicate some of the types of PB shooting by using compressed air or CO2.

Welcome to the HAM forum! The Zelos 25 cal is a great shooting rifle and a lot of fun. I installed a carbon fiber 5L bottle on mine for increased shot count between fills and couldn't be happier with the results. I'm glad you're enjoying yours as well. Airgun therapy is what we all enjoy so glad to have you aboard!

Dogowski, thanks for the warm welcome. How many shots are you getting before falling off the reg? Also, what req pressure are you using? I have two that will be going on Huben dream power regs March 20. Also two 500cc bottles that will be here in a week. Just trying to determine how many shots did I buy with this upgrade? If the stock tube only gets 20 on reg, how many should I get now? My other is the Umarex NOTOS going to start reg at 2100 on both.

welcome to HAM
what part of Ar. ?
Pan60, thank you. I am in Little Rock. Been here last 30 years. Not a bad place to be however not many Airgun folks live around here. So, I don't have many if any one to discuss this obsession/hobby with. That is why this community was seen as a way to talk with. Not sure why this hobby has not taken off here. Northwest AR has a small group up there, but too far to drive for what little they offer. Certainly not competitive but close knit.

rsfrid, thank you. rsfrid, you have been there, so you understand. I feel one misconception about this hobby/sport that is holding it back is air rifles are not firearms however, we are lumped into the same mindset by gun haters and/ or the folks that are concerned about the growth of gun crimes in the US. If you really think about this rationally

Howdy MOA, and greetings from FL. Here's to you spending an eternity waiting to find out which gun /cheers
dunz, thank you. Yes that is one drawback, chasing that one perfect acquisition that exceeds our wildest expectations. You know, that one gun that you can't put down after a shooting session until your forced to
put it down because you ran out of your perfect pellet/slug the fulfills your gun in every way. Yes, knowing it may take an eternity but, we gotta pass this time some way.

I outside fort smith and not much of a community around here either.
I have a couple friends that have taken to em since seeing me use mine.
I heard there was a group north of us but never run into any we do have one member on here thats north of us if I recall correctly

Welcome @MCarter54 to the HAM life! I visit Arkansas 1-3x a year, will be about an hour north of you in June in fact. I know one airgun enthusiast "near" you, since my father is who sucked me in.

Maybe we can try for a HAM gathering when I'm there, share the Airgunning love.

pan60, saw a group out of Harrison. Driving to Eureka Springs via Harrison and they were having a get together of some sort. Yea, it is a real treat seeing that gleam in their eyes after showing what fun can be had.

Papa T, that would be great. Spreading the message is a great way to expand the love of the sport.
