If you're waiting on me you're backing up. I've been using N2 for a long time. I own an HVAC business and have N2 around all the time. A little reading on another forum and I was off to the races. I use a 40 cu/ft n2 cyl fed at 8psi to my GX CS2 compressor and that's it. No fooling with 6Kpsi n2, no moisture filters, no nothing, just good ole clean n2. A 40 cu/ft bottle will last me over a month, maybe two on normal shooting. If I'm tuning and rebuilding a gun or two, it lasts about a month. The bottles are easy to handle and at ~$16 a replace/fill, it's pretty cheap. I figure if I had to maintain filters with media and such, the cost wouldn't be a whole lot more for n2 and I can shoot worry free. I installed 1/4" flare fittings on my n2 regulator, and on the inlet to my three GX compressors, and use a refrigerant hose to connect them. Swapping out compressors takes like one minute total, and I can keep shooting. It's a gas......pun intended!

Sweet!! Yeah if you got the know how heck yeah ! For us mortals lol good ole unleaded air works just fine.

Great post. What is the pressure of the full 40 cubic ft N2 tank? No O2 in your pcp's tank to corrode anything. 28 amu N2 molecules are lighter than O2 molecules and might up the pellet velocity slightly. Thanks for sharing!

A 40 cu/ft cyl of N2 is 2200 psi. (in fact most of the non 6Kpsi cyls are 2200).
Here's some pics of my setup. I used 1/4" flare fittings and refrigerant hose. The filter is empty, I just used it as a buffer for the intake, so the gauge needle wouldn't bounce around so much.

I've only ever used N2 in my PCP's and they are just as clean and dry as the day they each arrived. Spotless (on the inside, that is). That paintball 6K N2 has got me spoiled.

I'm thinking an N2 feed like you show will do the same, clean and dry, for the new pump as well.

Would there be a way to feed the N2 at 2200 psi directly to the pump?? Seems like a waste of energy. Only having to go up to 3000 psi would reduce the time to fill, run time on the pump, and greatly reduce the heat generated from the compression. These are all good things, right??

Great responses to our N2 discussion! I think I omitted the one thing that I was thinking about. I think the route to go is to use an airgun compressor but input N2 into the air intake. I think a lower pressure N2 tank could "feed" the compressor. Is that doable? N2 SOLVES the water and the O2 problems.

I use two silica gel bead cannisters in series into the inlet of my Yong Heng compressor. I fill a 60 minute SCBA tank to 3500 psi and get maybe 1/2 teaspoon of water in my final high pressure filter cannister. However I am located in the low humidity Arizona desert so moisture is minimal most of the time. The silica gel beads turn color from blue to pink as they absorb moisture. I leave the pink cannisters out in the sun for a day or two and they dry out and return to blue beads again ready for the next compressor cycle. O2 is not a problem as long as you use silicone grease and silicone oil to lube your airguns.
