Not a noob. Been hunting/shooting for a long time. Very long time. I fall into the old fart category , maybe even older. Pigs are my favorite but Unfortunately i'm a little to old and the world is to crowded to be safe.

Started with the Beeman P3 maybe 15 years ago and still going strong. Really like this gun.
Next was the Marauder .177 wood stock. Another great and accurate gun.
The the Air Venturi .25. Hard hitting and accurate. A little to hard hitting for my back yard.
Just got the Notos yesterday. Looking forward to testing it after reading all the reviews.
Got a new compressor but to tell ya the truth I haven't had much luck with them. Cheap to me = unreliable. I'm hoping my luck will change.

Why HAM? I liked the activity and discussions I've read so far. Hope to get some help when needed and help others if I can.

Located in the SE and finding it's busy keeping everything clean and rust free.

Thanks for listening...

Welcome to the well run and interesting Ham blog. I too am recently joined but have read it from time to time for years. I share your longetivity, hunted with firearms for 50 years. Now I have all but abandoned firearm reloading and shooting thanks to spending hours daily trying to squeak the mostest from my way too many airgun inventory. Now my hunting prey is paper bullseyes in my backyard.

Welcome to ham, like mentioned above, buy a good compressor ( gx ) and enjoy your airguns. I’m 63 and still chasing squirrels here in Illinois and just got back from a 6 day hunt in the hills of Virginia with one of my sons, we took lots of squirrels but I definitely lost on the numbers game lol. Absolutely beautiful scenery to behold.

welcome to HAM
your never to old get a buggy and go to the woods : )
or do like many and set up a small range in your back yard and have fun.
I think for compressors the best bet is bight the bullet and get a good one.
Thanks. Woods are diminishing quicker than housing is being put up. Only safe place is my back yard except for HOA Karen's.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Hey man welcome to the forum! Looking forward to hearing more about your adventures in airgunning. Don't give up on the Notos if it doesn't cycle right with the factory mags as they are known to suck. Just order some Maple Products mags off eBay for it and all will cycle perfectly! Enjoy.

WELCOME, From another very recent member.
I started with a hand pump for my PCP's, moved into a carbon air bottle, had a few SCUBA tanks that became re-purposed, and then bit the bullet and bought an Air Venturi Krypton and never looked back. YES it is pricey but maybe only double the 'lesser quality' pumps on the market, and less than 1 FX airgun? Too many people seem to be trying to fill bottles with little compressors (which most are not designed for), which may work for a little while but puts a lot of strain on them, causing them to fail. My Krypton has been well maintained, fills bottles regularly, and never given me a day of grief. Possibly something to consider if owning a decent collection of PCP airguns and 'in it for the long haul'.
