It was not on purpose, I didnt mean to. Tom had warned not to tighten more than snug. I was careful and went gently. It did not twist off when putting back in the trigger assembly. When I finish with a shooting session I remove the mag and put the safety in safe position, thats when it broke, that little threaded screw, fell off in my hand. BETH and I had been having a great day with plenty of good moment's, then this happened. what a bummer.
I will need to source a replacement. Where? AOA, direct from Tom, Wal-Mart? I dont have a clue but I am banking that a member here will direct me . Again< very sorry this has happened to BETH, I think she is mad at me!

well can you unscrew the broke part?
USA made so would beleave it has standard thread pitch screws just get a measrue and they should be easy to come up with.
depending on location at time small stuff might have tobe ordered.
maybe Tom will get a sec for coffee and see this.

I have not tried to as of yet, I am still pouting over my luck.

Beth is a “trying” gal and you are a patient man… Hopefully she’ll come around and reward you with less or better yet, no headaches…

the left hand side is broken off flush with the nut, it would need to be drilled out probably. If it will be a problem getting a replacement I will just leave it out and shoot like she is now.

Left or right side does not matter. A .050" hex wrench fits into only one side of the stud.

Yes, I realize that, and it is broken flush with the nut
If you have a small enough drill, the broken stud has a dimple in it to center the drill bit and start it square. If you hear the knob and then drill, that should be enough to start the broken piece unscrewing out the bottom, in the direction of the drill spinning. If you do not the equipment to do his, send it off to me and I'll see what I can do for you.

I understand all of that but the threaded rod that is left will be too short to screw in now. Thats a pretty small screw, not sure if I can locate one. I have a pitch gauge and micrometer and knowledge from 45 years working in a machine shop.

Hex grub screws are available at most hardware stores, and specialty lengths can be ordered at Fastenal or McMasterCarr.

Man your rough on your stuff! Lol just messin but I'm surprised that happened. As much as mine has been bumped around and riding in my truck, I'd expect mine to do that but not yet. Hopefully it's not too hard to take care of
I almost have it fixed. Got the broken screw drilled out and re-tapped. Still trying to source the 4-40 x 1 inch long screw. I dont need 40 of these but its hard to purchase only one.

Good moring! I have placed an order with Mcmaster Carr for the 4-40 X 1" long Hex grub screw needed to repair my safety problem. They came in a pack of 50, for 7 bucks and change, shipping was almost 10 bucks. Could not source any at hardware stores in my area. Some stores had them but only up to 1/2" long.
If you find yourself one of these any time , contact me and I will send you a couple. Have a great weekend. Its raining here so I plan to light up a cigar, pop a top of a cool one and enjoy this weekends races on NASCAR!!!
