If you could have only one gun

Y'all should see this coming from me. It would be between my .357 Benjamin Bulldog or me M357 Benjamin Bulldog. The ability to shoot pellets, slugs, and air bolts is hard to beat. If I need to hunt for food I can shoot rabbits and squirrels with pellets without messing up too much meat. I still have the ability to kill predators and take deer or hog sized game with slugs or arrows. It's a repeater and unregulated so I don't have to worry about a reg going bad. It's pretty easy to work on. I can get 5 good shots (and another 5 decent shots) from the .357 shooting pellets and 5 shooting light slugs. I can get 4 good shots from the M357 shooting slugs and I haven't shot enough pellets to really know what the shot count is like. All I know is that it hums them!! Haven't tried air bolts in the M357 yet, but I'm confident that it could send one through the vitals of any animal native to the US with a sharp broadhead. It's fun to target shoot with. I can cast bullets for it. With this type of versatility, it's really hard to beat. I'd hate to see my small bores go, but they cannot compete with all of the options that the .357 Bulldog platform affords.

Id have my ghost with 177-22-25 barrels. 177 for ft,22 for hunting and 25 for bench. Can’t hunt in pa with the 25
Yup, for me if I had to pick just one right this minute it would be the ghost HP with .177 and .30 barrels. Have it now..
shoots great in both calibers. Here is 8 shots in .30 cal with the hades. Ran up to AOA the other day picked up the .30 barrel kit, 700cc bottle came home swapped barrel, probe and bottle out. Went to range zeroed at 40 and shot this group at 90yrds. Pigeons at my permissions are in big big trouble.

My “One” gun would be my Daystate Wolverine R in .177. 19.5 ft-lbs shooting 10.34 JSBs. I enjoy shooting Hunter field target, 25m Benchrest, 50 ft indoor, and bench rest silhouette chicken little out to 70 yds. The 1/5th scale silhouettes don’t fall fast at 70 yds but they do fall. Shooting sparrows, starlings, rabbits and squirrels. I figure one gun should allow you to do the most of what you enjoy.

I think the Red Wolf .177 HP if the low setting is less than 20 ft-lbs and the HP setting around 30 ft-lb with 16.2 JSB and / or slugs might be more versatile, but more expensive and electronic. I see people fight/fuss with these from time to time.

I think the BRK Ghost .177 might be close as well for being a great one gun that is mechanical. I don’t have either.
I have both. The versatility of the Red Wolf would make me choose that one every time over the Ghost. The Red Wolf is 19 on low, and 29 with the above mentioned pellets. Medium is 24 with the 13.4 jsb monster.

In break barrels it will have to be an rx2 20 cal. PCP will be a vixen standard 22. Side lever is Diana 48 in 22 cal. I’ll stop trying to decide because there’s to many options. lol

Well now that I am old and like a very light powerful gun the Airforce Escape SS .25 but a younger version of me might have picked my Seneca Eagle Claw carbine .25. I don't see much about the EC but it is an awesome gun. In many ways it is like an Airforce repeater. I say that because it also has a power wheel and makes the same kind of power you would expect from an Airforce gun. It is also just as accurate. It can be a very good tool for hunting and the gun is just beautiful. Neither of them is terribly pellet picky.

That eagle claw I guess is one of my favorite looking guns . Too bad no sights.
Regardless it's one more stylish and appealing designed . ( Lever action )

Interesting how this thread has aged. I've been checking out the EVOL .22. The idea of having a rugged gun that just shoots without much fuss appeals to me. Haven't found anyone who complains about the trigger. I don't mind adjusting things, just want them to stay put after I do.
