Already the benefits are racking up of having just one Airgun.

1. I’m going on a 3 day dove hunting adventure this week. What airgun do I take for ground squirrels? The talon p of course that’s all there is

2. Only one gun to look after now instead of 20 possible leakers.

3. Someone wants to borrow a gun. Sorry I only have one ☝️

4. Just need couple tins of ammo

5. Don’t need huge air tanks to feed hungry beasts my gun has a 213 cc tank and fills to 2400 psi. My 18 CF tank probably
Can be used a ton of times.

6. You learn one gun and that’s deadly
On ground squirrels

When I just had a FWB124D, one of the first things that I did was to get a second one for parts, in case it was discontinued. While I agree that having just one gun to learn and get right has a lot of benefits, I really believe in having a back up, for use, or just for parts. Two is one, one is none, kind of thing.

Agreed but in my case if my Airgun stops working I just shoot my .22 LR

I've got a tractor and an old small truck and a new big truck.

All three can get me anywhere I need to be. There's just best fits for particular uses.

Tractor could get me to work 30 miles away, but it'd take awhile. The tractor.

Old truck could probably get me to the destination on long road trips, but it has lots of miles so I stay close to home with it, racking up commuter miles to work, and bumping through rough fields and hauling firewood, etc. The beater.

New truck is reserved for road trips where I don't want to break down and I want to be comfortable when I'm gonna be stuck in there for hours on end. The road tripper.

I've got the same mentality for my airguns. All three shoot a projectile. But each one fits a particular use MUCH better than others. And in some cases, I've got guns that are against the rules to use in various competitions. So in comps, the gun matches the rules or division or category, etc.

BUT, if my airgunning hobby was simplified, ie if I had only one particular use, I certainly see the appeal to a big downsize as well.

As much as i love Airguns I could definitely never be a collector, just not enough time to shoot em, and do em justice. 3 to 5 is the perfect number I have worked out in my head (2 springers and 3 pcps). My .22 Ghost is simply massive overkill for a sparrow and is somewhat useless with shots inside 20Y. My .177 Springer is useless as soon as there's a decent breeze and I'm shooting past 30Y. I think for pesting using just one can be real wise (I'd go 30fpe S510) but then....for coons you really do want a little more punch 👊
There is some usage overlap and as @Pumacarl says when one isn't performing you can grab another if needed. Never had anything outright break though yet🧐....usually its just me tinkering or a dirty barrel.

LOL trust me its better she doesnt : ) at least not untill the bill shows up.
no I am want that new EVOL HPS .30 and a GHOST but I cant justify either at the moment the wife has two BRKs and I have three EVOLS so we are good

but I NEED a new gun ma!
lol that’s right I forgot she shoots too. Maybe it’ll be easy to convince

Totally understand your desire to downsize. My powder driven collection, (just shooters no museum pieces), has blossomed over the last decades until there are guns that i love to shoot, that haven’t seen use in over 5 years.
The only reason I’m keeping most is because my children would never forgive me if I sold their inheritance.
