I'm Jay. After starting as a kid with Crosman and Daisy rifles, airguns weren't part of my life until 1999. After finding out there was a field target club (MAFTA) near me, I was reeled in to the world of adult airguns. After a few years I served as president of MAFTA for 6 years, compiled the newsletter for and later served on the board of AAFTA for one term, and traveled to participate in quite a few national matches.

A ground squirrel infestation and European hose sparrows that are messing with my bluebirds have brought me back. MAFTA has added a bunch more matches this coming summer, so I hope to be able to attend more than my once-a-year match.

Welcome back to Airgunning and to Ham! What you shooting these days... Springers?
No ground squirrels here (yet?) but lots of invasive Hosps though.

Thanks. Still shooting the TX I bought in 1999. Borrowed a friend's AZ Steyr and remembered how much fun (and how much easier to shoot) PCPs are. Back in the day, I had an FWB P70FT, which was fantastic, but life got in the way of FT matches and I sold it. Currently making a decision on what PCP to buy for pesting and the occasional FT match.

Love my TX (Walnut in .177)! Ive pested with it but its best left to pcps for sure👍
Is yours an MK3? If you want to stick with AirArms i cant recommend the S510 platform enough! My go-to pesting pcp in .22.

From what I’ve read it seems that the Huntsman Revere is well suited for FT.

Welcome aboard to a frozen badger fan. How's the squirrel situation? (tree rats)
We only have 10 acres of woods, but plenty of fox, grey, and a few black squirrels. I'm not a hunter, though, so they are left alone to do their squirrel things. We have 30 acres of prairie for the ground squirrels to do their thing, but they choose to come up by the house and destroy plantings and retaining walls, so they are being 'encouraged' to stay out in the prairie...

Welcome to the forum my friend! Enjoy your stay here.

Sharp looking. I missed you at the dinner - I was in Kentucky. A fellow MAFTA member showed me that he had rigged up some insulation boards around a window and could shoot out of a peep-hole gap he'd made in the boards. If the urge to play with the new rig bites hard I bet you could rig something similar up.
