I was really surprised at the slug bc especially since the tin says .091. Do you know the bc of the 20.83?

Says .088 on tin but I need to test them still. Which i am going to try tomorrow to do

I checked the b.c. using my very unscientific method of just matching the drop at 200y to what Strelok says and inputting a bc of .068 seems to work out just right for me using a G1 profile. I found this out when I found myself having to click more than I should have, using the .088 number on the tin. The other slug I shoot is the Zan 23gr that lists the bc as .07 and they were correct, that's what I got too. The Zan shoots a little slower but does have better consistency than the JSB over 150y, and as it turned out actually has a better bc. Under 150y though, the JSB is my absolute favorite projectile to shoot these days. I mean, if I had to pick just one thing to shoot for all scenarios, I'd still pick the .25 JSB MkII at 875fps, but the most fun is definately the .22 JSB KO 20.83gr .216 at 980fps. Awesome fun!

So for some reason I had my gun tuned a little hotter than I thought the other day shooting these around 925fps and they are at 900fps avg over 5 shots which checks out as the 18gr are at 975fps instead of 1000fps like the other day but it is cooler today so who knows. That being said had a 5 shot avg with 900fps at muzzle and 812fps avg at 50yds both with the FX Radar. Depending on what "app" you use to figure that out its roughly. 065-0.07. About what id figure realistically. Im about 780ft elevation and out of a 12 groove barrel i won't get higher BC numbers as a smooth twist or polygonal barrel

Lol glad to see similar numbers. I saw there were more posts after I posted. But yeah for a hunting rig like mine these are my favorite by far!

Nice! Different methods but the same results. The truth is the truth I guess. I was at 480' elevation. Thanks for recommending those when you did, I have had an absolute ball using them!

Yeah for sure man! I will say it seems most people who have tried them really like them but there just isn't much about them out there.

@Solo1 what did the gun come tuned out of the box? Or did you test it there at all? Curious what reg was set at before.

It was around 100-110. As i understand they are tuned for 18 gr and decent shot count probably 880-900 fps.
I set mine up to 140 bar and increased hammer spring till i got 21.9 to 930. It will shoot 25.3 to 885 and i dont think im getting quite 2 full mags. It is shooting very good though. Limit on squirrels is 6 so no worry there. Lol. On the bench i shoot tethered and plan on some n50 practice with it i believe its capable of a 250 if i do my part reading wind

I bought a different stock so it sits better on my labjack and a + it has a compartment that holds an extra mag.

Just tried some 25.4 jsb ko slugs- 887 fps 44.5 fpe 217 10 thru the same hole at 10m. Ill be taking these next time i go out.

Got out today shot a n50 243-8x and shot some groups with the 25.4 jsb ko and the 21.9 aea you can judge for yourself but i think ill stick to the pellets.

Yeah the slug groups are nothing special to write home about. Id stick with the pellets also.

I'd keep shooting the pellets too, until I found a slug that worked better.

Put a helos 4-20 x on lost 1/2 pound. Shot a n50 today with quite a bit of switching wind only shot a 230 with 25.3 aea. Should have waited for the evening.

We’ve had winds in the 45-70 so haven’t do any shooting but billiards
This is the second time my shooting bench has been turned over and moved about 25 feet away and it’s not light!

After having and shooting this for a while im happy with my decision. It was between this a blackwolf or a brk xr2. The xr2 didn’t make the power i wanted the blackwolf made the power but i could buy 2 tacticals for the cost of the cheapest blackwolf so im happy with how things turned out. I only added 2 gauges a silencer and changed the stock to work better on the bench so it makes a good 50 yd bench gun and a good hunter which is really what i wanted.

Yes, you have me looking at the classic… thanks for that . But the Taipan turned out great so, maybe.

Just remember you won’t get the power out of the classic i did without changing the plenum
