Sorry, no. The only way to attach videos is to use an embed link from a video hosting service such as YouTube. Is there a way to directly attach .AVI or .MP4 video clips to our posts on HAM forums?
Ya, I'd just prefer to make and edit myself to post .. VLC player does good and easy to use .I am not even sure how to do videos ; o
LOL I have a youth account I set up to do videos more years ago then I can count but never did I sometimes think someday I will.
Who wants to support woke tube and there cancel cultura propaganda..lol. I guess you .?Vimeo and Rumble are both alternatives if you want to embed them into this website. My experience with using those two platforms is #1 they don't show up in search functions and #2 the quality of the playback is terrible. I get people telling me all the time to move videos over to rumble...that would be great if they actually got any views. Who would sponsor content that gets no views? If you are a hobby based videographer they are good options to be able to share content.

I'm glad you feel important enough that you think I need/want you to watch my stuff. What I wrote is pretty clear on the "topic", the playback quality sucks and few people use either to search. If they fix some of the problems I think Rumble could be good....but they haven't therefore they will never be competitive with a Google based platform, sorry to inform you of the hard truth.Who wants to support woke tube and there cancel cultura propaganda..lol. Dana you are spot on. Unfortunately, YouTube's algorithm based on Google is the best in the business. Their algorithm is proprietary and therefore cannot be used by Rumble and so on. However, there are a few up-and-coming platforms coming online, and I believe this will open up more avenues of creativity in the future.I'm glad you feel important enough that you think I need/want you to watch my stuff. Tristan, thank you for an excellent analysis! I agree with every word.Dana you are spot on. Unfortunately, YouTube's algorithm based on Google is the best in the business. I for one am happy that you create, that you create often, that your content is free of charge as a consumer of videos, and that it is accessible on YouTube, Rumble, Facebook, Instagram, and elsewhere.
As for videos direct to HAM, the OP question if I am not mistaken, small videos I'm sure could be uploaded. But to give an example, the newest "EBR" video that I just did with a run time slightly over 26 minutes sits around 16 gigabytes in size, and as such having content creators directly upload to HAM would bog down the website with too much data. Additionally, if content creators like Dana, myself, and others exclusively uploaded to HAM and avoided Google's YouTube (yes I dislike their TOS as much as any guy), the fact remains that the videos would get a fraction of their views, and with that, I would not be incentivized to create and neither would Dana, I am sure. The fact is, I do video because I am a retailer or because I am hired to do so. That is my incentive. The last video took me 47 hours to edit, and without an incentive I frankly wouldn't be spending a week on an airgun video. If I did an airgun video at all, it may be a single clip upload of an animal I shot while pesting, but not a creative one that takes time, energy, and money to finalize. If content creators didn't publish to YouTube, companies would not send airguns to review because, wait for it, there would be no views to justify it. The same is true with HAM as well. If HAM as a magazine only sent a hardcopy of a review by mail to subscribers, it would not get the distribution that it does receive currently by being indexed by Google. Hence why all old media is dying.
My recommendation is watch if you want, don't if you don't, and if you find some grassroots guy in the middle of the desert uploading direct from his phone clips of his airguns on to Rumble and that is your jam, then subscribe. As for me, I like art wherever I can get it, and Dana's videos are well crafted, meaningful representations of a career and hobby I love.
