EVOL EVOL MINI what scopes?

Thats the exact scope I want to get (16X midas Tac) to replace the 3x9 Hawke on my S510, great scope for the money but at 9X a 50Y sparrow is still pretty tiny . How far do you plan to shoot your evol mini that I am assuming will be in .22... I'd guess under 100Y? Definitely a 12X or 16X scope should do the trick!

i will most likely be shooting it on average 20 to 50 yards maybe 70 from time to time but it will most like be my main tree rat gun so i cant see shoot much more the 50 yard except for the occasional rabbit
i have two of the midas Tacs and love them a LOT

I have that one also. It is small and light, and seems to be a decent little scope. The only reason that it isn't mounted currently is because it doesn't parallax all the way down to 10 yards, which I shoot at regularly.

I just ordered an Athlon Talos BTR 10x42 Gen2. I have a VectorOptics 10x44, an Optisan CP 3-12x32P and an Athlon Heras SPR 2-12x42. I like the glass on the Athlon best. This is why I decided to give the Athlon 10x42 a try. The VectorOptics is good for the price, but its glass isn't in the class of the Athlon and Optisan based on my old eyes.

Looking forward to mounting the Athlon 10x42 on my FX DRS and comparing it to the Athlon 2-12x42. I have found for the type of shooting I do I set my current scopes to 10x and leave them there, so I decided to give the Athlon a try.

I like mine!
The zero stop grub screw can come loose soon after it arrives and it will sound like the scope is broken. Just fyi. If you hear a rattle, carefully remove the elevation turret and inspect

I have one on the rifle I shoot the most.

It’s not a compact scope, so I didn’t recommend it here.

I am really liking this thread because it is in my wheelhouse for what I have and want to use and most of the comments come from experience with the product. Nice job guys! I haven't tried the Optisan yet, but love their size, reviews have been positive all along. I like the other fixed 10's too, but they are probably too big. Of the fixed 10's that I have, I think, my SWFA is actually the lightest. The Vector Marksman, is the value leader @ $107, great scope. For small scopes for a AAA Evol Mini that is only going to a max of 70y for rabbits, and mostly tree rats at 20-50y, I would be looking hard at the IO 5x30Pro. The "Pro" version has the +3" eye relief and only loses a couple(4') feet of field of view to the "non-Pro" version, which is still something like 34' @ 100y! Talk about making it easy to track and shoot, without having to scrunch up to the glass. If anyone has experience with this scope please chime in.

yea definatly want it to parallax down the more the better.
i might even get a red dot or something to stick on the side?

This is an interesting thread. It got me thinking. I had EVOL Mini .22 and sold it because it was the best out of the box airgun I have ever owned but it exceeded my requirements. I didn't want to de-tune it because it was so good at what it was designed to do.

My current requirements are my 10 - 50-yard range, just target shooting and self-imposed 20fpe or less power based on protecting my steel targets and not requiring more power to be accurate.

Based on my requirements and old eyes, I need a scope with 12x power or less and parallax adjustment down to 10 yards. Over the last 6 years my most used airgun, that is stationed at my patio door, is my Leshiy Classic with a MTC zero eye relief 3-12x24 scope. This scope is no longer available, so I didn't recommend it. I don't have one of the new 10x prismatic scopes, so I didn't mention these scopes. But a 10x prismatic scope may be a good alternative if you can adapt to zero eye relief. The reason I haven't tried one is average cost is in the $500 dollar range. I'm not ready to expend this much on something that may or may not be for me, but it may be worth looking into. Maybe someone that has a prismatic scope can chime in.

HAM did a good review of the Hawke Airmax 30 Touch. This is a zero-eye relief scope. Mr, Archer does a good explanation of the benefits of a zero-eye relief scope in the review. These benefits should transfer to a zero-eye relief prismatic scope. I have 2 Hawke Airmax 30 SF Compact IR scopes and they are good scopes, but the illumination wheel is next to impossible to turn so I haven't considered this scope or any other Hawke scope.

One other benefit of a zero eye-relief scope is the fact you have one additional point of contact to stabilize your rifle if shooting from the standing position (or any position that benefits from additional stabilization). I had noticed that @Franklink had a MTC zero-eye relief scope on his 1720 FT pistol and asked him why he was using that scope. He pointed out the additional contact point for stabilization. Every little bit helps!

hope i like it i wanted something a bit differant but i think this will work.

I’ve never owned or looked though the 2-12 Helos so I cannot compare directly. But, I have plenty of good and great scope and for the cost and size this little Discovery 2-12 scope does an admirable job.

There are not many scopes this small and light with adjustable parallax, let alone adjustable down to 10 yards.

I hope it works out for you. The fixed parallax on most of these LVPOs is a deal breaker for me.

most likey most shots will be in the 30 to 50 yard range so maybe i will be okay.
i dont think i will have a issue offloading it if i dont like it.
so on these low power scopes with out parallax do they not focus properly so far out?

It usually focus up close with the fixed parallax. But you can generally get around that using a lower magnification at closer distances. The catch is with closer shots you need to make sure your eye alignment is the same each time. You’ll notice the POA move around the reticle a bit 20yards and in if you move your head around.

You are absolutely correct. As far as I know, this is the only scope with all the right feaures at this size. I know that my problem with it is just related to my older(degrading) eyes.

Look - I don't want to create a scare for something which my not impact you. It's just something I've noticed, but this scope it may not be too bad or present at all.

well i very much welcome the input!
it is supose to ship monday so i might call them and see if he will just sent the one i want once its in stock if i can get them before it goes.
i have a Atlon talos i can use for now i guess.
but i migh like it who knows?
my only issue is the POA shift at closer rages and i got this because of the size it was in stock and thinking it was the right choice for closer ranges on the MINI
