Hello fellow airgunners. I have a question about pellets that have been washed and lubed.
I have some JSB 15.89 diabolo pellets that I washed dried and lubed. The pellets now a dull grey and don't have the original luster. Are these still good for use? Does this always happen when you wash pellets?
I have not washed another batch of pellets after seeing this and I now wonder if washing pellets is a good idea or not.
I only hunt and pest with my guns so....

According to AI they apply a very light coating of oil in the manufacturing process. That most likely is why they shine and you are removing the coating. Lots of people wash pellets to remove lead dust and loose particles, I don't myself, but I would not worry about it. They should be fine if you used Ballistol don't use petroleum products to lube them.

I gave up on washing and lubricating pellets a couple of years ago, finding no appreciable difference between straight from the tin. I decided it was a waste of my time.
