Do you consider a guns weight…

I am a fit 62 year old man, still ride my bicycle on the road, hike, etc. As a cabinetmaker my job is physically and mentally challenging. Last week I was milling an 8 quarter, 12” wide, 16 foot long piece of poplar. So I can lift and manipulate a lot of weight, and I still prefer lighter, smaller guns like my Atomic and Pathfinder XRs. I can carry a bigger, heavier gun, but why would I? For me, afield? Light is just right…
plus one i consider myself pretty fit and prety darn stout and i do not want to lug a heavey gun through the woods.
my wife is fit but but not a large woman and she dont need to toat a gun that ways more the she does! LOL

Depends..... I have a 22lr that weighs in at just over 18lbs. It is a BEAST to carry in the field, but it is an absolute hammer. If going out and sitting in a blind I will take that as I know it will work. If walking for miles up and down hills I will take something lighter like my EdGun with a sling.

Really depends on what you want to do, and what your comfortable with. A good tripod can make all the difference as well when you get set up.
