Connecticut/Massachusetts/Rhode Island anyone else close by...

Over the past 6-8 weeks I have been talking to people I normally chat with about setting up monthly or bi monthly shoots. Recently I have contacted a few places about acquiring some EFT targets, however I wouldn't want to limit it to just EFT , maybe some 100Y BR Shoots, no need to setup a PRS shoot plus until I figure out a venue I would like to keep slugs out of it due to not knowing backstop available as well as space but I have a few places in mind.



Would anyone be interested in participating in anything like this? Possibly with an small entry "fee" for each shoot to cover the venue as well as possibly a "prize" each shoot? I have not ever put anything together like this and would love input.


Location would likely between Hartford and the Massachusetts border east to the Rhode Island border.

Per another members suggestion I checked out this places website and signed into their system.

I am thinking about making a drive out there this weekend to get some shooting in and check it out , they have covered 100 yard shooting benches, they also lease/rent the range for events.

With that said , if anyone is looking to get some shooting in this weekend and would like to meet up let me know. This could be a potential spot for 100 yard bench rest matches.

Theres a few others I want to take a peak at as well.

I'll be curious to here your experience there. I shot there once and it was an experience for sure. They've got a lot of benches, but it is a no blue sky range. You're shooting through about a 2 foot high window. Also, while I was there one guy almost blew off his hand when his rifle failed and another guy had a few guns stolen straight out of the back of his pickup. Long and short - I didn't feel very safe with the PB guys that were there.

I have a range in Sutton MA I am very familiar with that has 265 yards at your disposal and about 20 benches, covered at that. However it seems to not be the most local place for a lot of people I have been in touch with.

At the range in Sutton (pb range) I witnessed two bafoons loading wrong ammo into their rifle and when it wouldn't cycle they just manual racked the rifle each time, someones face could have blown off!!! meanwhile , I was breaking all their clays on them with my Taipan Long .25 at 115 yards while my buddy at the other end of the range was dying laughing, they kept missing, but they kept thinking they were hitting.

Its always a shame encountering these people but they come in all forms, in all hobbies unfortunately.

I'm in Rhode Island and actively shoot the New England Field Target League clubs and I'm getting started with 25 yard bench rest in the area but I'm up for as much quality tigger time as I can get.
