Blackwolf Blackwolf Pricing. Help me with the math.

Hello Ham.

I am happy to explain how we arrive at the prices of the different versions since I determine the pricing.

1. Our import cost from Daystate. Add shipping and duty tax, add liability insurance that covers the product and our customers. You would be wrong in assuming all importers insure their goods. You would be wrong and not covered if the product is defective. This establishes our landed cost.

2. I then put a small margin in the product for our distribution company. Very small. This pays for the sales staff and support nationwide for our dealers. This makes the brand available at your local shop.

3. A margin then goes on top of that dealer cost to make the rifle desirable for the dealers to stock and keep on their shelves. This is also smaller than you would expect and much less than dealers want. Just ask them.

4.Barrels and cost to make them are not linear to the length. Trust me I know with my experience in making barrels. The longer barrels have much more waste and discard rate. Harder to drill, ream, cut grooves and turn outside dimensions between centers etc.

5. Stock cost are not only controlled be material cost. Finishing cost, tooling, waste etc are all factors.

6. Market factors. I can tell you that the carbon gray guns are very underpriced so the entry into the platform is available to more people. Ask the dealer selling it. They will agree the profit on the gray carbon rifles is pathetic. It is not that the other models are overpriced it is just they have a little more juice in them for the retailer.

I hope this helps for a better understanding.

Rob.

Reading some of the grousing I think that it is important to remember that Daystate does not build entry level rifles. They build top shelf rifles. I would like to drive a new Audi, but the price of entry is unacceptable to me. I don't complain about their cost, I just simply don't purchase one.
My thought exactly, if I don’t like or think I should pay a certain amount for an item, just because I want it I never thought about telling the world or the company they priced it wrong. if the price is too high no one will buy it. Harley Davidsons, Jeeps, Corvettes, Ski Nautiques and many other items may seem overpriced, but they hold there value well. Just thinking out loud.

Also might I add that Daystate uses Minelli for their stocks, (or at least used to?)... a company with an opening claim of "Minelli Group makes the best gunstocks and grips in the world" demands a higher price tag and being that they only manufacture wooden/laminate stocks that could explain the price jump from Carbon to Wood stock options.

All these new rifles coming from the third world at cheap prices are destroying the market. You can almost buy a rifle with most of the features of the high end stuff for 1/4 the price. I need to sell off some of my collection in order to get into the newer products, but I can hardly give them away at less than 1/2 what I paid for them. There's just no interest, therefore I cannot buy any more airguns regardless of how good they are.

Thats the whole problem here its like my redwolf i just sold back to aoa for $1200 that nobody would buy off the forums but aoa turned it around for $1700 in 2 days! If you sit down and take retail price for each piece and add shipping cost for each piece of a black wolf i bet it would be cheaper and in 2 yrs if you want to change youl most likely get less than 1/2 back. The guys that are in a big rush to have the newest and fanciest are driving up prices for everyone and the chineese company's are picking up the slack from sales to the average person

Should we think of it kind of like a Ferrari with cloth seats?
I think this is the simplest way to describe higher end Airguns. We aren't talking about Gamo here, these are high end products. Plenty of people aren't in the market for a Farrari because they simply can't afford one or it makes no sense to own one. You look at almost any hobby and it's the same exact thing, RC cars and Planes are the best examples. Lol Or Jeeps, you guys can't imagine how much people invest into those things. I bought mine and the only thing left of it original is the damn body and part of the frame. Haha

very true I own multiple Harleys and for years people would say how can you afford that but if you want something enough you can acquire it. dont smoke dont dink and what what you save. I dont do either anymore nor do I eat out. thats a lot of pocket money rite there.
then if you toss in some type of side job or has the younger one might say a side hustle really 3000.00 isnt all that much if you put a little effort into it?
but at the end of the day do you need it or want it and how bad. which prevails which constitutes beans and rice for the next year? its all doable.
and JEEP Just Empty Every Pocket as I recall?
