Omega Any Input On the CX4i vs the Hill EVO-310

My cheap Toauto ac/dc compressor just died. I need to buy something. After just ordering a BRK Sonoran, these are really out of my budget but I’d appreciate any first input on the pros and cons of these or any other sub $1500 compressors? Five PCPs and growing I might be over taxing the little guy. I don’t really need portability. Thanks. Leaning towards Hill.

If you don't want to take any chances, and you want someone to talk to if something goes wrong, get an Omega Air Charger from AOA. Other than that, there are deals to be had with the GX line, if you are willing to search and wait and take a chance. At this point, these two lines have been vetted enough to be the standouts to me.

My hill quit at 15 hrs cost $200 to rebuild (orings mostly). My omega aircharger i feel is a much better compressor being water cooled and running at lower rpm but still producing aprox the same amt of air. Don’t know the hrs on it but think its close to the hill at this point

I own the Hill and love it immensely, however you shoot pcps alot more than me.... If you plan to fill tanks in any way shape of form, pass on the Hill imo. Air cooled only, and a bit slow. Mine gets used maybe twice a week and fills my guns only.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to either a Hill Evo-310 $1080 shipped arrives in two days or the GXCS4i either direct from GX for $610 5-10 day delivery or Amazon $680 5 day delivery. At this point I don’t plan on filling any tanks, as I don’t own any lol. That could change in the distant future. So it would be direct fills for the TalonP, 250z, Ghost HP and the incoming Sonoran 700cc bottle. From what I’ve read the Omegas are repackaged GX compressors with better support, but are a little over budget for me right now.

One more thing about the Hill (or any compressor) They sell the moisture filter kit as an add on, but your really should get it! Can't imagine filling my guns without one. The Hill filter is good of course but you could get anything really....the new GX filter unit looks pretty good too.

I’m thinking I’m going to buy a GX4i and the GX filter. I really like the auto-features of the Hill. But, the price of the Gx is very appealing. I watched a video of the GX4i filling a tank nonstop. I guess I need to decide and get one on the way.

Gx 4 all the way. I contemplated a larger compressor but it’s just me shooting. It’s plenty as it will top off my 6.8 L from l 250 bar to 300 in a half hour to 40 minutes . All I need a week. Unless you shoot a ton or are filling for numerous people you can’t beat it.

Now that you will have a capable compressor, think about finding a good used scuba tank to fill.

Marketplace or Craigslist just check the service date on the tank.

While it’s filling you can enjoy shooting, that’s my plan anyway.

It’s not my fault that he fell down the Airgun rabbit hole . It’s just better to land on your feet instead of your head or worse .
