AEA Center Punch Pellets Now At Pyramyd AIR

AEA Center Punch Pellets are now in stock at Pyramyd AIR in a range of calibers from .177 to .35 cal.

These pellets have been gaining strong endorsements from some airgun shooters, so now could be a good time to try some with Pyramyd’s “buy four tins, get one free” program.

Starting with the largest caliber, AEA’s .35 caliber pellets are available in 100-count tins at 79.77 Grain weight. There’s also 110 Grain versions in 80-count tins.

Interestingly, while a choice of two weights is available in most of the calibers carried by Pyramyd, there’s a choice of three in .30 caliber.

The .30 caliber range starts with 150-count tins of 45 Grain pellets. There’s also 150-count tins of 50.5 Grain pellets and 100-count tins of the heaviest 66.2 Grainers.

In .25 caliber, the AEA pellet weights give a choice of 29.2 and 33.9 Grains. Both these weights are supplied in 300-count tins.

Moving back to .22 cal, AEA is taking the middle/heavy ground with 18.13 and 21.9 pellet weights. These are supplied in 500-count tins for the 18.13 Grainers and 350-count for the heavier weight.

Similarly for .177 caliber, AEA Center Punch pellets are available in 500-count tins of 10.3 Grain projectiles and 400-count tins of 13.7 Grainers. The latter are particularly heavy weight for that caliber, exceeded by very few other pellets.

Up here...Yes!! lots of Jts pellets/slugs stocked but nothing from AEA. But now that P.A. is carrying them that should be helpful. Odd that they only have 18 & 21gr in .22!?
Was hoping to run something heavier from AEA through my Ghost.

@Danman Wow. What sucks about JTS pellets is the number of pellets in the small tins. While price per pellet may be comparable to other brands, if you mix and match tins of JTS with JSB or AEA higher count tins, the cheaper JTS tin with a lower pellet count will be the “free” tin. It’s no bueno ordering JTS pellets with others when the buyer needs to purchase a certain amount in order to take advantage of savings or a promotion.

I read on a forum that after shooting JTS and AEA pellets, airgunners find it necessary to clean their barrels more frequently. Have any of you all had this experiences as well

I have. Tried JTS & AEA in four rifles, multiple calibers. Despite much less weight variation than JSB in all of the varieties tried, they only out shot JSB in one case- AEA 34 grain in my Cricket Carbine. Both JSB MKII & AEA shot great, with AEA just a little better.
For about 60 to 75 shots... by 100 shots (starting with squeaky clean barrel) they're spraying.
At that point, the only way to get accuracy back is to remove the barrel for much scrubbing with bronze brush & solvent. Lots of lead, & it's stubbornly stuck. Pulling patches does not work, no matter how many & how tight.
This is not a rough barrel either, it's well polished.
A shame, since they shot so well. Just not willing to pull the barrel & scrub at such short intervals, so now using the JSB MKII exclusively.

@wolfmangreg Sounds vaguely familiar. Thanks for sharing. On occasion I like to bang out shots when I have time. I may shoot for an hour or two and I don’t want to stop to have to clean a barrel. I may shoot through a tin in a day. Especially with my GK1.

AEA are simply the best over all pellets I've ever used. I shoot the 29.5 25 caliber and have had great success (when I'm not double shooting targets) with a 2nd place in CMAC and a 5th at Georgia Boys. I missed podium at PAC with a double shot that left me @ 20th. Shooting so light a pellet in high wind is really amazing.

I would like to know more about that pellet. I'm assuming your shooting them pretty fast. I would love the see some data and some group pictures. I know a lot of people have moved away from 25 cal but I think it could be better than the rest in the right setup.
