Going to order an adjustable butt hook for my C2T, but have a question for those who have experience with them. I see two versions available for that rifle- one is just a butt hook, the other has an adjustable monopod. For those who have used one with a monopod (regardless of rifle)- do you find the monopod useful? How does it compare to a rear bag when shooting from the bench?
This particular one has both coarse & fine adjustment of the monopod height, telling me it's intended for precision shooting on some level. Doesn't seem like it would be as stable as a rear bag, though perhaps more field expedient. Not much of a bench shooter though, so I don't know what I don't know. Have always made do for zero/dope setting from the bench with either a one piece rest (Caldwell Stinger) or some combination of rolled up towels & homebrew sandbags. Wanting something better.
Trying to decide whether I want the monopod version or the plain butt hook. Price difference isn't all that much, & the idea of not needing an additional bag or other apparatus for rear support sounds nice. Buf if I'll just end up using a bag anyway, the $20 would be better spent on more pellets.
