Do you guys remember a few years ago there was a Russian video showing a super cool semi auto pcp pistol that was supposed to be coming out. It had a lot of hype and then it was actually revealed to be the leishy2. Super crazy twist on the whole thing.
I was at work the other day and thought, how crazy would it be if the Epic Airgun stuff actually turned out to be some top secret stuff that Tom has been working on, instead of a overseas clone of his previous work….
I am interested in the Epic airguns insofar as they alledge to be coming out with a small foldable bottle gun in .30 that closely resembles an airgun I already love. I envision something like the RAW micro-hunter which to me lacks the refinement that AAA provides. I’m just not attracted to the RAW lineup at all.
Tom are you working with a top-secret multi-national team of airgun scientists… perhaps in a secret laboratory that’s hidden away deep in a dormant volcano on some deserted island somewhere in the middle of the ocean to bring out a little tiny folding, bottle fed carbine for me to shoot critters with?

LOL
i looked at the Epic airguns i did not think they where clones of the EVOL but thats what it seems other think?
no clue.
i was interested in seeing what there valing is going to be.

They appear to be heavily influenced by both the Evol and the Slayer to me. They will allegedly be sold by Pyramydair when/if they hit the market… so my fantasy regarding Tom having a secret plan to bring these out is truly nothing but pure fantasy… but it would’ve been cool anyway. Hahahaha
I think I read on some forum that they expected them around the 2k $ range but I don’t recall where I saw that.

been a while since i have heard anything from them. i think they had a youtube video up a couple months or so back.
i looked at them i did not draw the conclution they wher clones i think some did because of the way the revever is machined but if i was going to make a air gun that is how i would do so that alone was not enough for me.
the have a balanced vale and a ecturnal regulator adjustment so i figured no way they where clones.
but now Tom is adding these as options on the EVOL?
but even so not being. done in the same way.

i have had designs stolen from me and it sucks so i hope they are not doing there design for that purpose.

The epic 2 looks like they took an evol, added a leshiy 2 externally adjustable reg, and added a saber tactical chassis to it With folding stock. I posted a similar response on airrifleactivities Instagram post on it, and got a lot of flack. I won’t buy this gun purely on the fact I truly believe its copied designs. While the manufacturers of those guns may see it as flattery, I see it as lack of uniqueness. pill stick with my evols for now thanks.

Well, I can understand your position as I initially felt the same way. But if we look around on the road, all cars look the same anymore, all athletic shoes look the same, there is a serious lack of originality in general.
Look at the FX Impact and all the new Impact-ish rifles being produced now by everyone else. We could say that every pcp that uses a tube reservoir is copying all those that came before it, or every bottle gun is copying something else altogether. They have apparently made enough of their own design changes to warrant their product being evaluated on its own merits. I can’t see it ever being any competition to an AAA product in regards to build quality. It takes away nothing from AAA, anymore than the cheap fake Lamborghini fiberglass body kits take away from Lamborghini.
Those who want the real deal will always pride themselves on having the real thing.

Agree, I would simply swap out the stock.
Just got my peepee whacked on AGN for comparing the 2 in a thread. It’s hard to tell the truth on that forum when it goes against a “supporting“ member or should I say “sponsor” of the forum. It’s not about the members any more, it’s about who pays the piper. If HAM had a classifieds section, I’d ditch AGN all together!
Making drama from what is a hobby for 99% of us is simply, unnecessary. Simply below you to be knocking AGN. Both of these sites are great assets to us. Why seek to pit the forums “against” each other? I ask you this sincerely. Unreal that you are casting such aspersions, its a hobby dude!
