A couple days ago I caught wind of an XFT style match in Ohio, about 3 hours from home. First one in the area, as far as I know. Apparently the club couldn't call it "Extreme Field Target" for some reason or another, but pretty well followed the XFT plan- max .30 caliber, 15-100 yards, all bucket 'n sticks. Distance wasn't marked, but rangefinders welcome. Kill zones were either 1" or 2", the lone exception being a ~17 yard shot at, I believe, a 1/2" or 5/8" kz.

Drove up with the Cricket 2 Tac along for the ride. Knew the rifle was capable, but having owned it less than 10 days, was a bit concerned about my half baked DOPE (no pun intended)

The good news- I won! The less than great news- Only two shooters, the match director & I. And he shot my rifle; didn't bring his as he expected to be... well, match directing. He wasn't going to shoot, but I talked him into using my rifle & I'd call out the holdover for him. DOPE wasn't perfect but not too bad (thanks pre-ban copy of Strelok Pro)!

MD made all the targets himself & set the course, so felt bad for him that it wasn't more well attended. He wasn't too discouraged though, since the match was put together on such short notice. Was happy to hear he plans to do it again in September.

Big things are born from little ones. Love the story and how you shared your gun and made a friend…

Great point Luis, gotta start somewhere. Glass is half full :).

Started to suggest Saturday mornings to avoid competing with the AAFTA Ohio circuit, but then it would compete with the Ohio bench rest circuit 🤔. Maybe a Saturday twilight shoot- start in daylight, finish in the dark with lit targets, get home in time for a decent night's rest if you're going to the AAFTA on Sunday. Just thinkin' out loud. Not a bad problem to have if you're an airgunner in this region of the country.

There you go, now you’re thinking on how to help your new friend grow this thing. Oh the humanity, I love it and wish you the best. Grow it as your enthusiasm and energy allow. This was me today trying to regain…

Sounds like a great day!

Where was this match held? Was the event announcement posted some where? Would like any other info you could share. Number of lanes, number of shots, pictures, whatever else you can think of so I could pass info along.

The reason I ask is that we just ran our 2nd High Power Field Target match this past Saturday (Field Target - BCSA August 12th 2023 FT Match Results (Binghamton, NY)). I know that some of the people come from western New York and may be interested in going to Ohio to shoot if it's not to bad of a drive.

Thanks in advance!

Greg

Match was at Wyandot County Airgunners (dual purpose property; also home to Wyandot County Coon Hunters) near the small town of Nevada, OH.

Address: 12759 TR 133 Nevada, Ohio 44849
GPS: 40.807309 /83.159395

Wyandot County Air Gunners and Wyandot Co. Coon Hunters Assn. Inc | For The Address of the Club: 12759 TR 133 Nevada, Ohio 44849

15 lanes, one target per lane, 2 shots per target, with plans to add additional targets eventually.

If memory serves:
- 4 targets <30 yards
- 6 targets 30-50 yards
- 5 targets 50-100 yards

The Kalibrgun Cricket 2 Tacs get no love. I can’t understand it actually. They are one of the very best. I wouldn’t compete with another .30 and I can use anything I desire on the market‼️

Not to toot my own horn but I can get the most from this platform ~ Go Tenacious Airguns or don’t go at all 😎

No arguments here!

Maybe it's the negative pub regarding how the magazine loads to the rifle, which I have never understood. It can't be that bad if I can do it blindfolded. [Insert "... so easy a caveman could do it" commercial here]

Lest anyone get suspicious- I don't work for, or get free stuff from Derrick. Just really happy with the rifle & his work.

I've known Derrick since we shot together and shared an AirBnB for RMAC 2019. Shortly after EBR that year we formed Team Centercut. Derrick gets the most from the Eastern Bloc and BRK Airguns, better than ANYONE in the USA. You're shorting yourself if you buy a Cricket, AGT (Vulcan or Uragan) or Ghost from anyone other than Tenacious Airguns.

I shot one of his C2T .30 caliber with 50.1 grain pellets at the December 2022 TexTreme EFT State Championships, and it was sublime. Smooth, easy cocking, super accurate, perfect trigger. I had never touched the gun prior to shooting it that day (took 5 sight in confirmation shots) and still shot the 2nd highest score at the tournament in the first round.

In addition to that, he is a GREAT shot in all types of competitive shooting. The best overall shooter on Team Centercut no doubt - and we have quite a few very good shooters!
