Benchrest Online Benchrest Competition Rules

I am working on the next online competition. I need or at least like to change/ expand some of the rules. There are some good reasons for this that I’ll explain in a later post. I do understand that we would all liked to have started already 😁. Please keep in mind that @pan60 has the Pumpkin Carve running and @FL22 has a Fall X-Shot 75yd match running currently.

I am going to ask some questions on here about the rules. Please try to respond, it will be really helpful.
Here are a few details of how the format is changing:
1. A substantial prize will be awarded to the overall winner - the reason for the fine tuning of the rules.
2. It’s going to be a series/league and not a single match. Instead of running for a month it’s going to run for several months. I’m going to format it to reduce the geographical/weather friction. In other words, I’m taking into consideration that that it’s still 90f here and I’m looking forward to be able to shoot more outside over the winter. But, I’m painfully aware that some of you will not be able to shoot as much in the upcoming winter months. I’ll keep it fair and accessible. For example if you can’t shoot at all in the month December or January, you will still have enough time to complete. I may live in Florida, but I grew up in Northern England and I’ve lived in Iceland twice. I understand the impact of weather LOL. Iceland and Florida are similar in that they both only have two seasons. One has hot and hotter and the other has cold and colder.

As I stated I’m going to ask some questions and share some thoughts on how I would like to proceed. If you feel a rule or something is going to prevent or make you not want to participate, please let us know.

I’m still dealing with the hurricane aftermath, including feeling worn out. I haven’t forgotten the online match. I’ll get it running this week. Gives everyone time to participate in the Pumpkin Carve and the Autumn Shoot.
I would like to limit the next one to .22 and below. My FX Panthera .30 would be my choice personally. But, I’d like to keep it more inline with traditional 50yd/m benchrest. How does everyone feel about this? I’m trying to bring it into conformity, so that I can try and attract more competitors. I’d like to see it transform into a continuing series. Please post your comments on limiting the caliber here. If it’s going to stop you from entering, let us know.

Myself lol, made a post that required immediate retraction. I was dealing with text messages from two different people, the wife asking me questions, the dog barking wanting to go outside and filling up my airgun, watching the fill gage, oh and posting 🤭😁.
😂🤣😂 Well, it made me go back and edit my post. I removed anything that I thought could be innuendo. LOL

So what are your thoughts on .22 and below?
I think that it will be fine. Anyone that may have not participated feeling that the larger caliber would give someone else an advantage may be more inclined, although after seeing Soren’s score with a .177 it really shouldn’t even cross their mind.

I’ll probably pull the Sniper off pesting duty temporarily, my S510 is decent at 50y but my Sniper is better.

What did you use for the last one?

Bill did did you ever get any feedback from those who signed up, but did not participate?

.22
Not really. I think someone mentioned time. That won’t be an issue with this one. I’m thinking of running it for at least six months. Similar format as before, as in you can shoot your targets when and where you can. Hopefully there will be so many targets this time that you won’t shoot them all in the first week 🤣😂🤣😉. But, then that makes me wonder about how many are too many. I don’t mind buying targets, but it seems to be a road bump for some. There’s going to be a significant prize at the end. I have to make it long enough to justify the investment the sponsor is making.

Count on me being 100% by the end of December for sure. Humm… large prize… sponsor… could it be an X-Shot camera system?

I wonder if @pan60 was able to get the targets printed at a local print shop.

I did not as I so sledom go to town and I really am not sure where one in although I am sure there is one somewhere in town.
getting me to town is likely not going to
