What did you buy/receive today?

My kyl showed up today. I got a chance to shoot about four pellets before everything was covered in water vapor. Come on fall so that I may shoot again.

Nice purchase. I shot one of those for the first time at PAC - it was a lot of fun. Is that the one that says it’s the original? My wife stated that she’s also ready for the summer to be over.

Yup, shooting targets 7 is the company. Oddly, I used to live a few miles from this place. Well built for sure. I almost purchased the wrong one until I saw his ad explaining why you shouldn't. I only put a flag on the 1/4" target as I felt that it would be the most difficult to see a hit.

I purchased a used wood stock for my Nova Liberty and USPS has once again decided to leave the package in Kansas for a few days. If I buy anything (other than a small envelope) and it's shipped, going through Kansas it never fails to stay in that state an extra few days or more. Every time. My last large air rifle related purchase arrived 6 days past the due date and this one appears to be minimum 2 days extra. Anyways I'm excited to get a wood stock for the .177. heck they even have the plenum area drilled out larger so I may not have to modify it! Happy Friday folks.

I had that exact scope, sent it back. When I turned up the magnification past 24??? because it’s non-ED glass it had really bad aberration, looked like seeing through a heat wave.
I have noticed that as well. I want to see if it affects my shooting. Had a EP5 7-35 on it and just wanted a little more and SFP. These FFP reticles are just to busy for bench rest shooting. I don't want to spend 2-3k right now. It was 150 so I don't expect much out of it.

I’ll be interested to know if you are able to deal with it. I target shoot to keep my skills up because I primarily pest and occasionally hunt, all that “movement” was very distracting for me.

I have looked at the Heras and the price is compelling. I still did not want to spend 700 on a chance. If I really like the zoom I might go that route. It is cheaper than the March I am looking at. Would like the chance to look through some of this glass before I buy. No where near me to do that.
Well i can almost guarantee the glass is much better than what you have. I have many athlon scopes and all have pretty good glas

I recently purchased the Athlon Ares Gen2 15-60x for benchrest. It’s my first Athlon. It would go a little fuzzy in the center at 60x with some dark spots. After a little research I learned that all high magnification scopes have similar issues at full power. It has to do with how small the pupil exit becomes. It requires perfect head alignment. Because it’s SFP the reticle and range finding is only accurate at 40x. That works out good, it’s clear, bright, accurate with plenty of magnification for 100yd benchrest. If you know a vet or first responder they can gift you one at a hefty military discount.
