Ordered a refurbished Hatsan Vectis in .177 and some 12.5 NSA and 10.03 JSB KO MK3 slugs. This will be my first .177 PCP and my first Hatsan PCP. What could go wrong. 
I figured with the price of ammo these days maybe I can have as much fun with a .177 as a .25 for a lot less money, especially if my fat old fingers can't load them. I might have to get a 36x scope to see the tiny little pin holes in the target.

I received my FX .30 700mm bull barrel today. It came in a beat up box, luckily undamaged. It included a heavily greased unfinished bare steel barrel, one o-ring, a threaded adapter and no documentation whatsoever. The fact that they can’t afford a 25 cent piece of paper stating what is included and how to install it, should have clued me in on the fact that they probably weren’t going to spend the money on adding the black outer finish that all of their marketing shows. I’m sure I’ll figure the barrel out. I’ll be very surprised if this barrel survives the sub-tropical humid conditions of Florida. Every day here it has been 115f -120f heat index with 79-98% humidity. They’re having corrosion issues with the Bull Barrels in Sweden with a lower average humidity. If that is true, they should not be shipping these barrels unfinished
I’m no longer surprised that people like Pasedena Mike turn their backs on airguns completely and return to solely shooting firearms. There is a solid lack of integrity in this industry. Tell me that I’m wrong: Barra barrels, Pinty Busters, unanswered service emails, FX shipping unfinished barrels that are clearly finished in all of the marketing and the online images used to sell the barrels by the dealers. Not to mention spending $2200 on a new rifle that shipped to me with a bottle past its expiration date. It shouldn’t be too hard to ask to get what is advertised to you, whether it’s the actual product or the promised customer service. Look at all the posts here on HAM where airgunners have been waiting months for warranty service, receiving leaking guns etc.. on top of this the custom machined“special” tool to remove the valve cover doesn’t fit - LOL

Take a look at the photos. I’ve included the image used to sell the product to me and one of what I actually received.
I have to admit all of this has me thinking of selling all but one of my airguns and joining the Pensacola .22LR Benchrest group. I can do that locally.
I’m no longer surprised that people like Pasedena Mike turn their backs on airguns completely and return to solely shooting firearms. There is a solid lack of integrity in this industry. That is probably my fault, I told Mike he should just use a .22LR or a 17HMR for his ground squirrels instead of spending thousands for all the stuff he was using and not happy with. But I wish he would have stuck around. We used to talk day and night every day. He was a good friend. Now he is just gone.

It’s not your fault. He was fed up of poor service. I owned S&W, Beretta, Glock, Remington, SIG, Makarov, Ruger, Colt, Stag Arms, Para-ordnance, Mossberg, North American Arms and Kight & Hale ,22, .32, .380, .357, 40, .44, .243, .300 Winmag, 12ga, 31/2” 12ga Mag. And .50. Totaling over 30 weapons and never had a defective weapon or a customer service issue.That is probably my fault, I told Mike he should just use a .22LR or a 17HMR for his ground squirrels instead of spending thousands for all the stuff he was using and not happy with. It’s easy to see how frustration sets in when you see how common these issues are. I’m frustrated right now. I was told by a DR and my wife yesterday that I should skip the Pyramyd Air Cup next week. I said no unless I was ordered not to LOL and now I can’t fix the rifle because the required custom tool doesn’t fit. Then an unfinished barrel shows up. I posted about an order of pellets that I received. They were so well packed that there is no way that the tins could have come in contact with anything and yet some of the tins were damaged. That leads me to believe that they said screw it and threw the damaged tins in the box and shipped them anyway.

Well, I agree. Auto1191 posted the other day that he was told that the Bull Barrels were shipping late due to them experiencing quality control and corrosion issues with them. Just a guess, they were either having an issue with them corroding with the coating and either removed it or the blanks were corroding and they just decided to polish them and soak them in grease and ship them out bare with no notice to their customers. Either way, it’s not what they advertised. It’s not a factor if I can’t get to the leak

I got into the valve housing with a pair of needle nose used as pin drivers. That was after failing to do anything but scratch it with the purchased custom removal tool that didn’t actually line up or fit. Airbuks showed in a video the other customer tool that he made to remove the valve seat, I can 3d print one of those. But, he says: don’t remove it the tiny o-ring deep in the block behind the valve is easily damaged and a bear to replace. But, everything indicates that o-ring is the probable failure. I sent emails to both FX USA and the Pellet Shop about the barrel, but got no response. I’m sure I won’t hear back until next week. If I’m going to go to the Pyramyd Air Cup I need to leave Tuesday as it’s a 13-14 hour drive. I haven’t shot all week. I would really like to know more about the corrosion and QA issues, but I doubt that will happen. I’d also like to know what the extra o-ring is for. It looks like it may just be a spare barrel o-ring for the block. Or does it go above the threads on the barrel against the block. I’m going to replace the o-rings in the valve housing and polish and replace the valve stem. I figure I might as well just in case. Then probably make the tool and pull the valve seat out. Maybe I’ll try Cerakoting, then it will be in the BW price range with the spray gun etc., LOL

Really hope it doesn't come to that. Enjoy reading your posts, & quite sure others do too.
But I understand where you're coming from, been close to calling it quits a few times over the years. Took a long time, way too much money, and some hard lessons to form the "boilerplate" template for what I want in my gear, and what kind of manufacturers & vendors I'll buy it from. To stick with air rifles (when/where firearms are an option) long term, you gotta love it. The learning curve is a helluva lot steeper, and even the best ones require more care & maintenance than a decent bolt action rimfire.

Elaine just laughed when I said I was going to sell all of the airguns except one or two. She told me that I’m just frustrated. I sold most of my firearm when I mistakenly thought a cervical fusion meant no more shooting. But, she knows that I had several of my firearms for 20+ years and never fired them, would always say it was inconvenient to go the range. She actually encourages me to go out and shoot the airguns almost every day. The only airgun in the house that hasn’t been fired is her Umarex Komplete she won. I’ve told her she had to shoot it first and then I’m going to try and wear it out. You are spot on with the high maintenance though. But, I do love airgunning.
My dad's vectis is one of my favorites to shoot of his guns. He has an extensive Hatsan collection, but I would never buy a new one, only their refurbs that have been twice QCd for a chance that they were hopefully once QCd.
For any near enough Baker Airguns to wish to take advantage, they have a moving auction going. Bids on everything start at $2, but local pickup on Wednesday only.
I'm never going to let the airgun industry take my love of airgunning away. The jokes on them, I love fixing their $h!t! LOL
