Ok, i just got a Marauder in .25 with a Bike pump. I decided to look for compressor sales this weekend and after reading thread on MDShooter forum (firearm group with Air Gun forum), i'm looking at Nomad, Vevor and CX. Here as well prioritized the CX, but the Vevor for $246 has auto stop, it seems that would be a big selling point. So looking at these three, (and the nomad was just another i've seen recommended).

Air Venturi Nomad Nano 4500 PSI Portable Compressor | IN STORE PICKUP | 707034 at $399.99 not on sale as far as i can see.

Any recommendations. If you suggest a more expensive one i'll be delaying till i can build up my slush fund.

The gx cs2 is portable, filling the rifles. the 800w dual cylinder is targeted to filling tanks and larger capacity. As many other articles like this have said a good filter is recommended with the gx high end filter(125$) right now will give you clean filtered air. Moisture is your enemy. Smaller oil/moisture filters can work but that gx filter is amazing.

Now as far as the best small compressor i have the gx cs2 and it's great for filling individual guns. I have topped a tank off but didn't let it run past 15 minutes (the manual says no more than 20 or 25 minutes I believe) I put a fan in front as well for more cooling. Heat is a pumps enemy.

I don’t know anything about about Vevor and so I can’t comment on them. I would try and get one with water cooling if you can. Heat is the definitely the enemy. My GSX is giving me problems. But, I use it to fill guns and a tank and use it almost every day. I’m pretty sure it’s just the check valve, well I know it is now, as I shot the ball bearing across my garage at high velocity and lost it yesterday. Luckily I had my first compressor a Toauto A1X pump sitting there waiting for me to replace the piston and cylinder. It was only used to fill rifles and didn’t last too long. It’s been sitting there for over a year waiting for me to repair it. Necessity is definitely a motivator. I replaced the piston/cylinder and moved the GSX filter over to it. It took 20 minutes to top the Panthera up from 180Bar to 250 bar including a short pause for cooling. Boy is it loud compared to the CS4. Any compressor is probably better than pumping. You can always upgrade later and keep a smaller one for backup or sell it.
The filter is worth every penny.

Yes that is. Your options as you weigh should consider if your filling at home or on the road as well. Water cooled is nice but it's bulky. I have a single cylinder water cooled tuxing. If I go on the road I have a cx2. If you aren't planning on doing more than one rifle or a few then the smaller gx brand is good quality. Depends on how much you shoot as well.

I do not own one, but I have a very solid history on reading the forums and I would agree with what @Murfdurf82 is saying about the GX CS2 for a gun filler. I'd stay away from the Nomad line. Not much history on the Vevor from users that are not also sponsered.

For an actual tank filling compressor, depending on your personality, the Yong Heng's are very capable. Their caveats are that they are loud and setting up the water is a bit of a pain; but they are inexpensive, fast, and easy to service if you have to. I have 3, but mostly use just one, and I haven't had to touch it for the last five years. Check out some youtube videos to see if you'd want to put up with running one. Otherwise, if I had to replace my Yong Hengs right now, I'd get the GX CS4i, the noise of the YH does get to me some times.

If the compressor doesn't come with a dead head, get one to keep crap out of the end when you are not using it, and caps for all of your fittings.

Check and see if the compressor that you choose comes with a dead head. Both of mine did.

I have the GX-CS4 for a couple years have over 50 hours on the vibration hour meter I installed only issue was o ring for the burst disc fitting leaked. Ordered a new one from GX for like 20 bucks problem solved. I purchased the VEVOR 350 watt water cooled model when it was on sale like $255.00 delivered with a 3 or 5 year warranty. It was half the price of the GX and only had it a month or so but it is just as fast to fill my rifles but the only difference is the fan is louder. Put a vibration hour meter on it also. Only time will tell how long it will last but I am very happy with it so far that I retired the GX to back up duty if needed.

Buy the cheapest one with auto stop and a 4 year warranty from Amazon. Spend the rest on the GX filter. Have fun and get a new one when it breaks.

My Vevor lasted 3 years using it every weekend.

So i've ordered the CS2 & filter and when i get the money in the future i'll know if i'm interested in a bigger or water cooled one later on. Seeing that this should last a while and would be a good travel option for my regular trips to Moms house it just makes sense for my use. At 60 with neck & back issues i'm not going to be doing the bicycle pump fills with any kind of frequency (once so far is enough). Thanks for all the help everyone, really appreciate the info.

For filling a marauder the gx cs2 is perfect. Mine has been chugging strong for over 2 years and most parts are available. Easy to work on as well.
