H&N or JSB are the typical manufacturers of rebranded/rebadged pellets. Going back many years.

But the 21.9ish grained .22 makes me wonder if a deal was struck with parent company(ies) of AEA/JTS...

Of if Western bought pellet-making equipment.

Or, if the tiny blips of info a few years ago about NSA buying pellet making equipment is now true. This situation is the least likely, as it appears NSA and AOA had a falling out when NSA merged (was acquired?) by Air Venturi/Pyramid Air/Airgun Depot.

As soon as I saw them in a video the other day, I thought another rebrand of the AEA/JTS pellets. It would be silly to bet on a company that is losing market share. If it’s true, I hope they can meet their increased production demand, without sacrificing quality. Right now they can’t produce enough.

Yes, I've also found AEA for less than 4.5-cents per round but for the comment on this thread I went with what the last order I made cost me.

When I was a kid, I use to walk into the little hardware store in our small rural town and ask the clerk for a single box of .22 long-rifle cartridges. He would actually pull a single box or 50-count Remington from behind the checkout counter and sell them to me for 25-cents! Ah, those were the days!

I tried to buy a tin but the AOA website isn't working for me. Recently AOA 'updated' their site and since then the site is a mess for me. Links don't open, links open on the wrong page, drop-down menus are blank and more!

I'm not going to use the check-out page when the site isn't working properly.

I was able to try some 33.8gn .25cal Western pellets and tested a few groups in friends' back yard.

We measured their weight, out of roughly 30 pellets 95% of them are 33.7gn and 33.8gn, even split, with exception of 2, are 33.9gn. Standard deviation 0.14 gn, very tight. We didn't measure the whole tin, it became obvious that we won't find any wild spread. They look good, clean, thick skirt, dish base, dark grey.
Brought my Impact M4 with 600mm liner. Outdoor condition, 42 yard, light wind, tested velocity from 865 fps to 923 fps. All groups are less than 1/2 inch CTC. Longer range test would be nice but we were limited by the fence.

The 865fps group has 12 shots in the hole. The rest of groups are 5 shots each. Lower right group has a flyer caused by operator, me. Interestingly, the best group is 923fps. I didn't think pellets like high speed, guess I was wrong.

These pellets hits hard, and accurate, their heavier weight is good for windy days. Most importantly, it allows me to shoot heavier lead without going to .30cal. Will definitely stock up.

I didn't have the AEAs to compare side by side. These were smooth and uniform, no fly edges. No bent skirt neither. The weight spread of 0.2 gr is pretty good in my book, most of them are within 0.1 gr of each other, no need to sort them if you plan to use on paper target. They flew very well, I think I can make it better if spending some more time to fine tune my gun for this pellet.

In comparison I have used many of the red tins in 25 gr, they were ok, but the weight spread could go up to 1gr and you could sort out 6 or 7 different grades. I am confident to say the western pellet is better.

Would you mind posting a pic of the bottom of the tin? Myself and others might find that to be helpful to some varying degree.
