Alpha/Delta Wolf slug barrel

I have a TJ barrel on order now , he said it should ship in about 2 weeks and still waiting to here back from alfa presision

I got the TJ barrel early so I spent the day working on it and now its ready to go just need to put on the croney and shroud and get to the range

Hi everyone , I had to rebuild my compressor and clean it and had a few set backs at home I am going to get to the range this weekend , I did get some new slugs also the I am goingbto try in the 2 barrels the I tested last time I think the new slugs might work

Hi every one I am sorry I have not been on here in a while had alot going on the last few months lots of house repairs and new roof and a few hernia repairs but I did not give up on getting a slug barrel made that works I have the new ammo and 2 new barrels ready I am just waiting for a deburring tool to touch up the camber and rifling and remove some sharp edges I found on the inside that the slugs were getting marked on so once they come in I can finnish them up and touch up the rest of the barrels then go shooting

Doesn’t sound like a slug barrel is the issue… the whole rest of the gun seems to be falling apart…

I bought a 28” LW unchoked poly barrel last year and machined it to fit my Karma EQ.. it popped right in and was instantly better. The LW are very forgiving and out of about 15 different slugs it only shot one of them poorly.

My point being that unless you left a burr or something while machining it shouldn’t be this hard to find a slug that shoots well. They aren’t very size picky either. My karma will shoot any slug between .302 and .306 beautifully.

I found my end mills were leaving a half moon burr at the rifling on the slugs in the barrels so I think that was the main problem why I would get 2/3 slugs in one hole then a bunch of flyers then nice groups it was catching on some of the slugs has they were feeding in to the rifling the new deburring tools should take care of that and I should be getting them soon I hope

Oh yeah that’ll do it! I use a deburring tool. With the last one I did I actually used an 8mm carbide that I tapered up and on the lathe I lightly polished with that. Then piece of 2000grit sand paper by hand. Finally a felt polishing wheel on the dremel and a little bit of diamond paste. Very, very light pressure with that.

It’s not a great pic as it’s a screen shot from a video but that bad boy was shining.

Now that you know the problem you’ll have it sorted out in no time. Hopefully you’ll be showing off some tiny little groups soon.

I love to see how other people make their projects happen.

Hi , that looks real good there is alot going on with it lots of machining on it lots of cuts to make and boring holes , mine was a little less work my problem is I did not want to use a boring bar I wanted to get a reamer or end mill in the rite diameter lenth and taper so I dont have to keep rechecking the bore hole or taper just one tool to do it all in one cut but it takes time and money to get them ordered and every time I need to mod it a little I have to wait for a new one , I have 2 different oring tools I had made up the first worked good but broke easy so I had it modified to make it better and it works good but not cheap I have to by 6 min at 200 each and same with the end mills the have a 2 min order and waiting time of 6/8 weeks but when I get it rite and start making them for sale they will have the same tolerance and not vary at all from barrel to barrel .
