What'cha doing air gun related today?

Got a new tripod today! After extensive research, I hope I made the right choice. I want something that can be used tabletop, but sturdy and tall enough for the field. After a pretty exhausive search, I found a carbon fiber Sirui. The leg lenght is short enough for a really solid bench unit, and long enough for the field, at 52" from the bottom of the saddle. The legs start at 29+++mm and it comes with a rock solid 43mm ball and arca setup.

I played with it tonight and I am really happy with it, and the price was right! $160 for the tripod a$29 for the saddle.
Thanks for the pics. I've been on the hunt for quite a while for a light weight tripod. Most important to me is the thoughts they have about their purchase. Keeping in mind how it applies to our airgun community

I installed the evolve 3d barrel band and side plenum to barrel band Saturday. This shroud isn't moving one bit. Dropped the regulator to 2400, Sunday morning it had crept to 3k. Hmmmmm, not enough time to shoot between rain and mowing, ect. Been taking more time at my dad's as he's getting older so time isn't always available. Hopefully I'll run up to his land this weekend and shoot Billm's shooting challenge this weekend. I purchased a "barely used" fx chrono so I'll be able to get to work on speed test and accuracy. The ol caldwell just isn't working well. Might have shot it 1 too many times 😂. Happy Monday, hope y'all have a blessed one!

On a side note my used Nova Liberty stock I purchased has been in Kansas since the 11th and hasn't moved. Same BS different week w the postal service. One day it will arrive.

I'm still on the hunt for a 30 cal. For high end pest control. It has to be light weight, for off hand shooting be able to push out to 100 yds with the right ammo if needed. Semi automatic or manual. I'm finding that means smaller barrel lenght, slugs or not. FX. American Air Arms etc. Just when I'm ready to make a decision. I find that platform has issues. Thank god for the air gunners sharing their problems. Because every youtube video or new product shows only their best side. For now I'll keep at it

This week I implemented an evaluator module in the genetic algorithm which models vent angle, vent width, vent depth and vent area. It looks like that may have been a missing piece in the GA which dramatically improves the model. What does this mean? Well, sadly, I can't explain that here, but it is a good thing. The first thing it has done is confirm the architecture that Heartland Air is using in their designs and indicate that it can be improved.

And I am happy to report that I've updated the files on printables so that those who are printing them can more easily use the EZ-LOK inserts. I am "afeared" to say more than that. IYKYK

Leaving the house shortly for another event filled day in the field hunting ground squirrels with an air rifle!

Love it when the angle of sunlight is such that I can see the pellet's trajectory all the way to impact!

Hunting ground squirrels is my singular favorite thing to do with my airguns.

Have a good day folks.

Well, I can't shoot today so I put the original top hat back on the Escape because I pulled the 24-inch .22 slug barrel out and put in the 12-inch .20 barrel to try out some more .20 slugs when they get here. I also put a sticker on the back of the tank saying 20 because with 3 different 12-inch barrels and 2 frames to put them in I am afraid I will forget what is where. I plan on getting a .177 barrel as well but will not deside on 12, 18, or 24-inch until I do more slug shooting with the 12-inch .20 barrel.
