We had a brand new shooter at Rio yesterday for Field Target and what gun did he buy ...Yup you guessed it a Huntsman....He did really good on a pretty challenging course. His smile told the whole story when the scores were said at the end of the match.

Ok, I'll be the weirdo (not much of a stretch)...

4°F yesterday morning while shoveling the driveway. Little wind though, & sun was out. Rather enjoyed the the task

0°F this morning. We have no degrees, none. Fresh out. Dead calm, so not that bad.

As with pellets at distance though, wind is a royal pain to deal with.

I can dress for this. 102 in the shade, not so much. Can only take so many clothes off before folks get uncomfortable & say crazy things like "sir, I'm going to call the police" etc, etc.

Back on target...
Agree the Huntsman is an excellent FT rifle, though I'd prefer it about a pound heavier.

Agree the Huntsman is an excellent FT rifle, though I'd prefer it about a pound heavier.

Always been my problem with heat too. So I moved to a place where it rarely gets cold (under 40f) or hot (above 85f). Probably only San Diego has better weather than Oakland.

I agree, if the Huntsman was a tad heavier for offhand I think that would help. I put this on the huntsman and it does help for off hand shooting.

If you stabilize the airgun it isn't bad. Just leave the gun and a tank outside and you are fine. I have shot a few nrl22 matches below freezing and one at -40, with wind, before.

The rifle is really nice. Have shot it off and on, but honestly the weather has been so darn hot up here we are staying inside. Between fishing and work there isn't much time for shooting sadly...... need to wait until it gets colder

I bought a Daystate Huntsman Revere Safari .22 from AOA last September and really liked It so much I had to get the .177 version. I ordered It a few days before the July 4th weekend (Thanks Jake AOA) and have been having a ball taking out a group of Tree Rats that wiped out my Japanese Apricot Harvest. Maybe the .25 version Is in my foreseeable future too.
