Ghost My Ghost .25 Lothar Walther Out Shot My Sub-MOA Barrel

Most air rifles today are very accurate. It's ability to shoot tight groups is not necessarily because of the barrel, but the skills of the marksman. I can shoot a certain rifle and get outstanding groups one day and dismal groups the next. LW, FX, HW, Sub MOA all make excellent barrels capable of superb accuracy, but at this point, I don't think there's any magic pill that will exceed the ability of all others. There are way too many variables that affect this.

I have shooting sessions where the groups on paper are kinda meh. Then I'll set up some stuff 2 plink at, at the same distance and low and behold I smash everything without a problem. Its often a better real world test vs paper, and...way more fun😅
Im still guilty of putting the plinkables in front of my white-faced pellet trap so I can see where shots are going if I miss.
Just watched an American Airgunner (Jim Chapman) video where he shot some Rabbits and 2 Javelinas with his Sonoran .30 rifle, so it definitely has some clout!

I have a spinner rack at 100yds that I shoot at between targets. A solid hit by the .30 keeps them spinning. I watched the video. It seemed a little under powered for the Javelina.

This was my last group of the day yesterday. A nice 100yd .566 MOA group - I decided to quit on a bright spot. It was not super windy, maybe 5-7 mph, but it shifted the group over 2” . But at least it was a constant wind and the group stayed together. You can also see some of the other groups that I shot right before it. There were several sub-MOA groups today and a lot that weren’t. The rifle is accurate, the variables are me and the windI might try and get the Ghost HP.25 out with the Sonoran today.

Nice looking groups i'd say. The funniest part of that video i thought🤔? The 2 rabbits he shot with the .30 both made it out a bit before expiring. I have only ever shot Rabbits with .177 and .22 and 9 outta 10 times they are anchored where they are hit.
I think that's the versatility of the .30cal....big enough for small deer, hog, coyote, etc but still OK for bird, rabbit, squirrel too.
Admittedly i'd be wanting more power too for pig though....90-100fpe at the animal.
