250Z Need help picking a barrel and machinist

Ray, don't muck about. Go to a local gunsmith. It is going to take the 250z from budget friendly, to a higher tier pellet rifle category price wise.
You may need a local machine shop to run the o.d and threads/groves and center bore of the factory barrel from round stock, and a gunsmith to do the rifling/crown.
It can become exceptionally pricy.
Could it be more worth it to return the rifle, and purchase a beeman, etc, with more realistic advertisement until barra pulls their head out their
? Probably. If my rifle has a jacked barrel, and spare barrel is equally as jacked, they can eat it. 10000%
No back and forth, no obscene me running around fixing their
ups. Simply refusing to finance false advertisement.

That doesn’t come cheap and I’ve been told that it can be a lottery in itself.
The JTS Airacuda PRS is close to the 250z price point. Looks to me like it has more realistic specs and great features.
Oh and it’s in stock at PA .22 .25 .30
I have the Airacuda standard .25 and I’m very happy with it.
I mean I don’t have my ear to the hpa bottle like some Airgunners do but I haven’t heard anyone wanting to tear their hair out over JTS but seems plenty complaining about Barra.

Man, that's what I'm saying. If the 25 ends up in the same boat, rtm, full refund, and I'll save up for a Sonoran. Do I want to? Nooooooo. Is it beyond overkill? Yes. But, I'll get what is advertised 100%

You should look at the BRK Compatto. It’s on sale on AOA and available for $599 or $699. Definitely adequate for ratting.Oh dear lord, maybe I do want to get one.

My .25 z is a pellet eating rat blaster at the moment. If its choked, which seems to be a 22 issue mainly because barra dropped the ball, then I'll be returning it, and saving for the Sonoran.
However, I am looking for a budget plinker, because I can't keep shooting out all my pest projectiles, and im either going beeman, or the 1100z Gen 2. Both are choked, both are budget.

I got the 1100z gen 2 in 25 caliber last November and it's a great pesting rig! You get 27 shots before needing a refill and it hits hard man and the accuracy is awesome. I can't speak highly of it enough. Pull the trigger brother.

That's awesome to hear! I'd love to keep in the caliber tree, because i have absolutely tons, tons i tell you, of .25 pellets. The z has a zulus, which gives 10 profiles, 2 are for hades, 25 50 yards, and 4 for 33 Apollo, 25, 50, 75, 100, and 4 for 2505 h&n 32 grainers.
My budget scope doesnt work well with my sl30, and I've taken over 1 profile on the zulus for when im chucking zans out of it, but id love to have a decent budget plinker. Points attributed for being able to pest with it!
I've got a cheap Pinty 3 x 9 x 40 side focus on mine which was $39.95 off Amazon for a sweet quick grab groundhog killing setup that I keep ready by my back door!

Yeah, I will throw my old 4x16 side ao cv scope on it. "Budget" scopes sure have come a long way since the 90's! And I love it!

Either Cantona256 or Northeastbeast here on the forum can machine one for you if you want to spend that much on a 250z. They are the guys to do it!

Alien airguns on Facebook, A Mr Wayne R. Is a great air rifle machinist. I have some peek poppets and heavy hammer springs coming from him. On Facebook he has several videos of his work and it's unreal. I know a 24" Lothar Walther barrel is his longest he machines. I got lost one night watching a bunch of his short videos. Makes all kinds of plenums and other stuff. Heck of a machinist it appears.

It's wild to me that an avenger barrel can be had for 31.99 on pyramid (available again in late April) but an aftermarket barrel (of higher quality I understand) is 10x that.
