Hi, My name is Adrian Quiney. Almost a year ago I picked up an airgun again after being away from it for 30 years. I last was shooting airguns in the early 90's in the UK I had a Sharp Ace in .22 which I took just a few times to a Field Target Club in Walsall, Staffordshire, UK where a machinist had been combining aircraft grade tubing and compressed air.
Fast forward 30 years, and over to Wisconsin and I find myself just 15 minutes away from a Field Target Club in Oakdale (MAFTA), where a friendly group of guys holds regular monthly events. I contemplated getting a PCP, but elected to stick to Spring Piston and have got a HW50S, and an R9 (both in .177), and I recently got a HW97K in .20. A fellow at the club recommended I subscribe to Hard Air. So here I am!

Welcome, my friend. I live on Onalaska, about 45 miles from Oakdale. All this time, I never knew there was an FT club there. I knew of one in Bristol (BAGA) and one near Minneapolis, but these are too far for me to travel at my age. I do shoot 100 yard BR in Sparta, not far from you and belong to a gun club in Holmen. I may have to resurrect my FT skills again. I used to shoot a lot of that when I lived in Florida. Send me more info on your FT club if you can. Thanks.

Sure! we meet at Oakdale Gun Club, which is located East of the twin cities. The first shoot is free if you wanted to come and check it out. We meet April until October. There is a FB group "Minnesota Airgun Field Target Association (MAFTA)" that a person can join. Usually people arrive at 0900 to set up and start shooting at 10. Enter the gun club main gate, and then veer right and follow the signs to the handgun range. The FT range is a walk through the woods behind there. I cut and pasted a list of the rest of the monthly shoots.

MAFTA Airgun will again this year be holding Field Target matches at OGC on the second Saturday of each month, April thru October.
The dates are:
April 12
May 10
June14
July12
Aug.9
Sep.13
Oct.11

Oh Oakdale, MN, I thought you meant Oakdale, WI. Sorry, but that's a long haul for me, but thanks anyway for your reply. Shoot well.

Welcome to the forum man! I hope you enjoy it here as much as we do.

Welcome, Adrian, from a fellow springer advocate. I'd love to have you come shoot on our beautiful range, but the High Deserts of California may be a mite impracticle for you midwesterners. But welcoome to the HAM forums where friends come to shoot, safely. Orv.
It's impractical, but who knows/! I never like to rule out an invite. Thanks.
