How Far Can You Shoot?

At my home i have 0 place to shoot except for my 10 m indoor range. If i load everything up on my quad and run out in the strippings i have a spot where i can shoot 100 yds and another where i could shoot to 350 yds but i really don’t care to shoot there. Big thing for me is to load everything up and haul it out and back and to bench i have a small plywood table with foldable legs not the sturdyest thing
@Solo1 What are the “strippings?” I’m not familiar with that term.

I can shoot comfortable at 53 feet in my basement.
When at a friend house about 20 minutes away once a week we get out to 75 yards.
Otherwise it's a Range or Conservation area a couple times a month when it's not to cold.
Always a good topic. Envious of those that have longer distance's at leisure.

Last late fall I hit a 12-inch x 12-inch target at 400 yards with a 308 Texan, at the time i had no way of recording it , sometime this year I want to try 500 yards and a 10-inch gong 5 times in a row. I think everyone should know what there pcp is capable of, don't be afraid to stretch it out. Lol. I own a 230-yard range

I had my best shooting day with the Prymex about a hour ago. Using just a Hammers 3x9 x 32 I was hitting the 8 inch gong repeatedly at 350ft at a new friend's place. Footage according to his distances.
Some day I'll take some splatter burst sheets out there. That darn gun. I bet it's close to 3500 shots now. It prefers those RWS Field Lines with the round heads.

I'm blessed to have just over 100 yards that I can safely shoot on my property. I do enjoy the challenge of shooting that far, but it's a lot more work setting up for it and waiting for a day that the wind cooperates. It's much more pleasant to just sit and shoot 10 to 50 yards off the back porch.

@EdinGa I think similarly. I can only recall one other person sharing this sentiment. It is work to setup, shoot, change targets, and put everything away when you’re utilizing open space as opposed to having a dedicated 100-yard shooting lane.

I can only reach 100 if I shoot across my property from one end to the other, so I have to haul everything to the bench and set up for it. There is a nice hump in the middle, so I have to hang my targets about 7 feet up to see them from the bench. That makes it more difficult to change them out. Itcs still fun, but not as relaxing as shooting off the porch.

I built a target stand on wheels. I originally planned to use regular paper targets to a frame. But, it’s way easier to just shoot at the 24” x 24” steel plate. I just hit it with a couple of cheap white paint to cover the splatters every so often. Four square feet allows a lot of 2’ dots for aim points. I’m just shooting for fun, so a precision target is not a big deal. I have to admit I’m spoiled now, having a big yard and being able to shoot from the back porch. But truth be told, over the years, I’ve had as much fun shooting 1000’s of pellets at 10m due to the size of the available backyard.

I am very lucky to live where I live and have a landlord who is cool with me setting up a couple ranges. He already had a little spot where he setup two refrigerators as targets to practice his self defense pistol shooting and pepper them with shotgun blasts every now and then but I morphed the area over the last 3 years into 1 70 yard lane, and the other lane I am currently stretching out to 125 yards. In the middle of the woods, great, quiet, scenic place to sit with my dog and plink.

Before I tidied it up, it was just a landing/storage area for logs, the path was maybe 5 feet wide and only worn by skidsteer/excavator/utv tracks. Overgrown with lots of weeds and tall grass, I am gunna see if I can't find a picture and post it.

Good pictures Man. That's not to much different than Marks place but he has a inclined hill with a steeper angle. I could spend hours on end out there with you.
