Break Barrel .177 HW30 Owners: Whats ur favorite pellets?

Wife okayed the purchase. Now i am looking for some advice on what pellets you have found shoot best in these rifles.

A tad flatter shooting; try the 7.87gr AA/JSB as well. As far as diameter, I'd get a tin of each or just go with the tighter ones. I own 3 Lothar Walther barrels, and they all like em chunkier.

If you try pellets from reliable manufacturers such as Air Arms/JSB, Benjamin Single Die, and H & N you'll find the ones your gun likes. There are others as well. I've got to add however, I think that we sometimes place too much emphasis on finding the best pellets, neglecting other important shooting skills such as artillery hold, follow through, hold over and the like. Orv.

Mine isn't pellet picky, but seems to especially like RWS Superdome 8.3's & JSB 8.44's. They also fit very nicely, which may be the real key to it.
Mine is at 8+ fpe with those pellets, In case anyone wants to read the tea leaves....

Mine aren’t to pellet picky either, will shoot variety pellets well. But H&N Field Target Trophy’s 4.51 shoot the best in my HW30 and R7 guns -

The thing about the HW30 is it's pellet friendly. As long as you stick with that pellet you think is good with it.
Mine prefers Crosman Premier Destroyers for 15-20 yards. But as stated above the H&Ns preformed better out farther for me. When I buy a pellet I try to get at least 1000 of them. You learn that some pellets do the same thing no matter what gun you use. After my last experience with the RWS Field Lines I ordered another 8 tins of them. Cost VS the function they are a great pellet for the HW30 in my humble opinion.
While the JSBs I've used have all been great, they are so expensive.

I use RWS R10 match for target shooting.

For hunting I use H&N Hornet

As @Jaabaa says, HW30 is not pellet fuzzy !

It seems you're in the same situation That I am in. My wife is a shooter and she has to approve my newest Rifle. My newest and primary rifle is a 177 red wolf with a 6 to 24 discovery scope, which is the best rifle scope combination for me air rifle or Centerfire.
In the 177 I shoot nothing but Nielsen slugs, I haven't found anything with more consistency. It is the only pellet to date for me that I do not have to size. I'm kind of a lazy dude and I wouldn't take the time to size all those other pellets if they showed size consistency and chambering and cluster Consistency on the target. My R7 with a Vortek Delrin spring kit likes JSB 7.87 the best in terms of velocity and accuracy. They come out at 685 fps, or 8.2 fpe.

My only 30 (.177) seems to like everything.
It will take most pellets to about 7 fpe, some over 8 fpe. With a nice firing cycle. 8.X pellets seem to do very well.
Also, - I believe it's OEM, but I did buy it used and have never opened it up. I have shot one with a Vortek kit though, and mine does not feel like that one.

I’ve been breaking in my R7 over the last week. I just finished 500 RWS 7gr wadcutters, moved on to a tin of CPHP.
After 1000 pellets I’m going to disassemble, clean completely, and apply new lubricants. After that I will check velocity compared to initial numbers. Then shoot different pellets for groups.
It groups the CPHP a lot better than the RWS wadcutters

Nice! Those HW 30S are sweet! Try a 20 shot group, and report back.

I have a Beeman R7 I bought used. It looks stock, but I never opened her up, so I'm not sure if it was tuned. But it shoots RWS Meisterkugeln and for cheap basement practice in winter, HN Econ II.

I wouldn’t bother wasting all those pellets for nothing. Just git’r done.

Been shooting my HW30 off and on, probably less than 500 pellets so far. Been waiting to finish my bench before doing some serious pellet testing. Good thing is, tomorrow is likely that day.
