Check out the new Snipe 2 70 with the Laminate CHASSIS version! New for 2024. I ordered a couple more for the shop but this is my rifle in .22.

I set the reg to an incredibly low 53 bars shooting 18.13gr JSBs at 824fps. At 150bar I was getting around 1150fps, and I kept going down and down. Obviously I could have it running hotter but currently it's grouping very small at 50yd, so before cranking up and doing HP videos I thought I'd get this dialed in for first impressions and a hunting task I have: to take out a pest armadillo.

So what are my initial impressions before a video review? Absolutely love this thing. I'll get the negative out of the way, it's louder than other rifles but not as bad as many, and that comes with the territory: this is a HIGH power rifle, in keeping with the "snipe[r]" theme of the rifle. The CZ 1:17:7 barrels in 12 groove is perfection, and unchoked btw.

The tuning is simplified to just the regulator, and I did utilize the tune down while pressurized feature, which is amazing as well. The magazine is a major departure from the Crickets and a welcomed in improvement, and the foster connection is yet another improvement over the old probes. What else? Cocking and trigger are much improved, and the foldable, adjustable stock is very nice for bench and for making this long gun a bit more manageable for storage and transport.

On weight/size. Like I said it is a long gun, but it is nicely balanced for tripods and shoulders well enough. For bench the bottle weight out front definitely helps with the bunch other rifles suffer from.

I will be shooting this gun over the next year and beyond, so be on the lookout for reviews, hunts, and more with this rifle.

Want to take a guess at how many shots I'll get at 53 bar on a 300bar fill? I have yet to shoot a full shot string so let's guess together and whoever is closest gets bragging rights. I think 140 shots. That's my guess.

Cheers

Slugs, please test it with slugs🙏....that's what Im curious about! No one's using this gun to stalk squirrels @ 28ftlbs in the bush. I berated the guns shot count as sent for testing to Ham (and I stand by that).... My S510 gets 55 shots on 288cc from 250 to 150 bar flinging the 18.13gr to 880.....so I'm gonna say it should hit 180-200 SPF ....but then it's not British made is it 😌

I will be testing all ammo over many, many videos. I am absolutely thrilled about this gun. The ones I ordered for the shop were the green laminate ones, as I think they are less "pop" but I wanted the orange for my channel. I'm still studying basic stuff and getting my thoughts together on it. I have to say, accuracy is superb!

I LOVE THIS gun. Another photo of the @kalibrgun Snipe 2 70 FS Orange Laminate with a @dnt_optics Zulus on top, shooting the 18.13gr pellets at 53bar on the reg and now shooting 833fps. I just did more than 100 shots and I only consumed around 50bar off a 300bar fill! Insane! Mind you, the reg is at 53bar!!! Kalibrgun pulled a rabbit out of the hat on this gun. I haven't had enough patience or pellets to shoot from 300bar to 53bar yet!

I finished the principal filming for the first part of a series on this gun. I will be shooting this gun as my primary for the rest of the year, so currently knocking 3 or 3 vids on a review series on this gun, and will DEFINITELY be taking this for a few pesting jobs, especially given the shot count and mid-balance for the tripod.

Notably, this regulator and the ease of tuning make this gun VERY tune friendly, from as low as 20 bar on the reg and as high as 200, you can dial this gun in perfectly for a very wide assortment of ammo. The barrel being perfect for pellets and slugs, especially the .22 1:17:7, you can shoot very light, affordable pellets in your backyard, and then tune for some heavier slugs for hunting. Currently I am messing around with slugs for later videos and I'm shooting 25.39 JSB KOs out of it at 920fps-924fps. I tried the 218s and though they fed fine this specific barrel likes the 217s much more. I will be exploring more H&N .218s but currently I'm having too much fun on my current tune, plus I have an armadillo problem.

So regulator ✅
Barrel ✅
What else?
This Folding Stock is an absolute winner. Well worth the difference compared to the tactical AR stock. Notably, it offers an adjustable cheek riser, bag rider, and small built in monopod. Additionally the FS stock allows for the balance of this rifle to truly wonder. Plus off of a tripod the weight isn't felt anywhere but the center. Ideal

That thing is a beast!

I would guess somewhere close to 200 shots, with that massive bottle and low pressure on the reg. Would be able to shoot for days. Not really my style of rifle but I can sure respect the numbers and the ability of the rifle.

I'm now up on the reg thoroughly enjoying it. I'll keep you posted what I settle on

Also shot count on 53 bar is so high I haven't run the full bottle yet on that tune. I shot 10 bags, 130 rounds, from a 300b to 245b on the bottle, so with the reg on 53bar I would say that yes the shot count is very desirable. Even cranked up where I am now I am getting a lot of shots.

Tristan, what’s your impression of the magazines? Are they intrusive on pellets? Do 30gr to 40gr slugs fit fine?
Magazines are great. I shot the Snipe for two hours today. I haven't shot 40gr slugs yet, but I have shot 35gr. The 31.5 Altaros did well today. So far the best slugs are the JSB 25.39 KOs at 920. I did 100 rounds of Altaros today and they were comparable to the JSB, but at twice the cost. 40gr would probably fit but I suspect your regulator will have to be set higher at 175-180 (200 max) to shoot the 40grs in the low 900s. I was shooting the 31.5s today on 145bar at 920. Like many of the Kalibrguns I have shot, the CZ barrels like the 910-925 velocities in the .22 at least from what I've gathered. In the 700mm, the other speeds that have done well are actually really low power including down to 720fps 🤣. I always get comments about that but hey if the accuracy is there and I get loads of shots I'm happy to take it.

I was going to get some 40gr Altaros but I couldn't get my hands on it. I have some Zans to test but I don't like to power through just to do a "quick video," so today was Altaros exclusively.
