I like simple platforms

Was just looking at some EBR content from various creators who are out there as we speak. It is cool to see all the different platforms being used, and how there is more than just one platform that works great.

One thing that became very clear though looking through the content, is that I prefer simple. I am into airguns because I use them to hunt. I do not personally enjoy tinkering and fixing leaks, I like picking them up and shooting. I own only three, Evol, katran compact and notos. Rigid barrels, carbines not bullpups, and very few o rings to fail-yet easy to fix when the time arrises. Reliable simple guns are fun to me, the thought of endless adjustment, 40 o rings and a gun I can't take apart sounds stressful and that is the opposite of what I need more of.

This is just my opinion and thoughts, I personally don't want to see more "technology" getting crammed in, making the guns more expensive and less reliable.

Same here, no battery powered guns of any kind for me. Don’t care how accurate or precise they are…

Electronics is just something else that can go wrong on the rifle. The simpler the better for me. I'm 62 now and don't need any added frustration on top of everything else. Having to worry about charging etc.

Simple is good, but not always good enough. Enough people tinker and tune that a less simple gun just might be easier to work on, at least for adjusting some things.

This is true if you have the disposable income, and time, to play around with the technology, but I wouldn't want to depend on it either; definitely a third choice.

I like simple, but I also like to tinker. So I have very simple guns like the Cricket Carbine Mini and EVOL. But I also have some electronic Daystate airguns. It's nice to have a variety.

My one reply to those who pooh on electronic airguns as "it's just one more thing to break" is this: I've very very rarely seen a thread about broken electronics on a Daystate airgun. The long term data just doesn't support the argument.

I will agree that having to charge batteries, or making sure you fully charge the night before an outing, can have it's downsides. But the battery specs are good - you'll easily get a full day shooting out of a charge.

What's great is that there are options for literally everyone's preference. Bone simple, to easily adjustable, to electronics, to the tinkerer's dream.

I'm in the same boat with my only 2 i own, Evol and Notos. Simple guns and straight forward. I'd put Taipan Vet 1s and Edgun R5Ms there, Leshiy Classic also. Simple rugged guns.

We have quite a bit of heavy equipment for the dairy and most all our tractors don't have electronics. We have one loader that does and all because of one little wire the loader sat unusable for 3 weeks until that one wire was found to get it to move. Yeah I'm not into electronics lol give me mechanical all day. But great for the options for others, just not me.

"I" took out the PTO on our 7710 one time. My uncle finally had it explained to him by a tech at the dealership a solenoid needed replacement.

The new Skout has a lot of appeal, but I wouldn't buy one. I don't need a gun that talks to me. Further, the reason why it cost so much is because it's made of way too many intricately machined parts.

The electronics don’t bother me. Paint ball guys have been using electronics for years and they just keep working but I just can’t get over the looks on the skout.
