Others BEST Fittings One Way Valve for filling SCBA tanks

Hey fellas here’s a product I’ve been using for a long time to fill tanks with my compressor to not have to “pressure match” the tank and compressor (it’s not for guns because it’ll lock itself on, ask me how I know lol). Anyway depending on your setup you can use one with a qd or one with two made adapters. I always wonder why US dealers don’t carry these and no one ever talks about these but it makes a lot of sense to use one. I just connect everything and get ready to fill the tank but instead of pressure matching I just open the tank valve which fills the adapter and is now ready to accept the compressor air. Once the compressor pressure over powers the tank pressure it’ll open the check valve and fill your tank. Once you fill the tank just disconnect everything as normal just make sure to bleed the tank side and compressor side. I had made one a few years ago until I learned about Best Fittings over seas so I ordered both of the ones pictured below. The Best Fittings fellas are very friendly and helpful. I understand you can make these from cheap Chinese parts but do I want to trust 4500 psi to unproven brands ? Even when I made my own I got parts from the guys at Air Tanks Plus. I’m not sponsored by anyone just FYI I’m just a regular dude who loves Airguns and helping fellow air gun nuts and if there’s something that’s been good for years I share it.

They are helpful. I started using them after reading your post about the one way valve on another forum. I use one immediately after the compressor drain valve before the filters in filling SCBA tank. I bleed the compressor drain every ~twenty or thirty minutes.

Seems like the biggest benefit of the check valve is if there is a failure in the fill setup. The tank doesn’t discharge pressure if for example, the hose parts. The best part is that is not an expensive way to add safety to your fill setup.

Good point and you are correct. I had the burst disk blow(GX CS4) and did not lose the air in my SCBA tank. I stay close though when filling to keep an eye on things.

Yes yes absolutely!!! Especially If you’re filling a tiny 500cc buddy bottle that doesn’t have a check valve like a gun does . Long time ago i was using a Nomad 2 to fill a 500cc buddy bottle to 300 bar to keep with me for a couple fills in the field. You may need a male to male connector depending on how your setup is to fill. Don’t use the one way valve on a gun it’ll lock in place (don’t ask me how I know )

I'm confused. Which end of the fill line is the one-way valve connected to, and why?? Do you need and additional bleed valve anywhere in the string??
