You all know that I'm a Diana springer fan, and while I haven't had the chance to shoot ALL of them, I have had many different models in my hands. And for the record - never a bad one.
Rather than having fairly narrow expectations for my springers to meet, I'm pretty flexible. I like to appreciate each one seperately for whatever they bring to the table. You could call it their "personality".
No one should expect a light plinker to punch through a half inch of plywood, for example. Or for a Magnum to cock as easily as a youth rifle. Most everything in the springer world is a trade-off, after all.
I was wondering recently what my favorite Diana springer is, and I really didn't get anywhere. Not the "best" one (most likely the 54 Air King), but the one I have enjoyed and appreciate the most.
Leading candidates were the D27 (.22), the D50b (.177) and a softly sprung D36 (.177).
I have "better" Diana's, but those are the ones that I remember having the most fun with. All of my Diana's are quite accurate. The D36 is probably the best of these 3, but not by very much.
I'd like to know which models you all appreciate the most. Should be a fun discussion...
