I found out quick that I love bullpups when I got my P-Pup. Especially the wood and Steel versions. Unfortunately no room in pic for the ELF-W
@JimT66 I’m a bullpup lover myself. What do you like about them?
You mentioned that the other day in a post right? Or am I mis thinking? I do that sometimes. Linseed oil? I sure would like to see a picture when you done with it!I am waiting for a scope for my Akela also. In the mean time I am putting a finish on the stock
My ELF-W would go a long way with that done to it.I just smoothed and cleaned it with "0" steel wool, then sealed it with several coats of Birchwood Casey sealer, and am now applying several coats of Tru Oil. It seems to be working very well. I will post pictures when it is done. Unfortunately I did not take any before pictures. It is literally night and day difference.
It appeared to have one coat of stain from the factory.
@JimT66 Sounds to me like that’s your cue that she’s about to appropriate some of your property. Maybe order some cheap butt-ugly guns to take her interest off of your new deliveries for a while. See what she says when you open the box with one of those in it.When I opened the hard case the ELF arrived in, my wife was looking, actually showing interest in shooting air rifles with me. The first words out of her mouth was" ohhh how pretty". I have already lost several powder burners to her over the years after hearing variations of that statement. Kinda has me worried she may lay claim to it.
Like I said, it would not be the first time. I got a matched pair of the Beeman undercocker .22 regulated pups, yeah, butt ugly, but excellent shooters. Even put the Buck Rail silencer kits and cans on them. Still not much interest. Personally I think it's the wood and Steel she likes. That and she has good taste in air guns.@JimT66 Sounds to me like that’s your cue that she’s about to appropriate some of your property. @JimT66 Well you have some nice looking bullpups, so I suspect that you just have to start buying 2 of all the nice stuff. That way you have an excuse to have two in the event that she declines to comment with the anticipated “ooh that’s pretty!” Then when she tries to chew your head off for spending the money you can remind her that you were thinking of her when you made the purchase. Maybe ask her if she prefers that you revert to your selfish ways. You’re bound to gain traction on at least one front. Best of all, you get more bullpups.Like I said, it would not be the first time. I really, really like the way you think!@JimT66 Well you have some nice looking bullpups, so I suspect that you just have to start buying 2 of all the nice stuff. See? Now who says happy mediums can’t exist?
So far, just for ease of carry, weight and length, it's the P-Pup. It weighs nothing, even scoped. It's like 28 inches long in total, shoots in 880s with the JSB's and gets Lotta shots before it falls of the regulator. Our weather has been so screwed up, constant rain and storms, I have not had opportunity to shoot the Akela or the ELF. And, I am waiting on the scopes for them as well. The Beeman regulated Commodors are light, but kinda bulky, and with the added length of the needed moderators they are long. But they are definitely powerful and accurate. The fact that they use very common magazines is another huge plus. I probably have 12 or so mags that work perfectly in them. So. Until I actually get the Akela and the elf tested, it's the P-Pup for sure.Looks like you have a nice collection of Bull Pups. Which is your favorite and why?
